hated the guest, hated his shirt, hated his psychophantic comments, hated the fake laughter from near the camera and hated the background noise. Apart from that, Gary tried his best and for that reason it didn’t descend into the depths of a 70 point episode.

Shocking

    Great Show!!!

    Badass guest.

QOTD: Probably one of the better questions asked. Reason I’m into wine is due to how cool it is…haha. Its freakin’ fermented grape juice yet there is so much more to it. And in the end…it just tastes really great.

QOTD- I drink wine for myself. I know that sounds selfish, and it is ironic in a way because I share and literally give away bottles like I was born with them, but I drink it for myself. One of the few totally selfish things I do, and it feels so good (with apologies to Paramore). Cheers!

  • Nice job, JoeG! Great shirt, too.
I think if you and I could both co-host on the same episode, it would be such a mojorific show: A perfect balance of actual knowledge and pure camerahogette. 🙂
    See you Friday!!!!

Yet another good and informative show. My mouth is literally watering for a Pomerol and a RDD right now…..which leads into the QOTD: Because of how it makes me feel. I get excited over wine plain and simple.

  • Great episode. I was there for it live! The Pomerol was definately my favorite of the three. I also had the 2004 Leoville Las Cases right after the Winelibrary TV Show that was amazing. Great open house! So much food and wine, and atmosphere. You have to keep doing this. Don’t stop!

🙁 my dog and i got sprayed by a skunk ):

HA you just said pickle juice is like your first kiss.
    i
think this episode illustrates the limit of your personal branding theory … i dont care how well he branded himself, if that other guy started WLTV, i just wouldnt watch (no offense dude, im not dissing you).
lol actually he reminds me of the guy from sideways!

qotd; why do i drink wine? well … 1. i don’t like beer or spirits, or being drunk, or especially “wasted” … but everyone drinks so its nice not to be an outsider, and i find the wine set is a bit more cultivated, or at least trys to be, which is half the battle right? 2. i love agriculture, i want to be a farmer, especially of fruits and more especially grapes and triple especially wine grapes, so id better get a taste for the stuff. 3. cause wine grows here in the Hudson valley, and i have at least 6 wineries within a super reasonable (20 min) drive from my house, no further than anywhere else i go for stuff. 4. its healthy. 5. being a European it’s … well, expected. even the briefest get together with my family involves wine (as well as all those other wonderfully gormet things like tea, coffee, chocolate, cheeses, breads, jams). 6. wine explains me better than i can. 7. IT SMELLS GOOD

  • QOTD: Wine connects people, place, history, hard work, and delicate art. It is the final the ultimate agricultural product and the best chance the farmer has to express himself against the chef at the table. It is so simple, just crushed grapes let to age with yeast, yet so complex in its flavors. Its how man discovered alcohol. No wonder why it is so close to so many religions.

Wow! An awesome episode! Thanks, Gary, and thank you, JoeG! QOTD: I drink wine because it’s my passion. It’s a living thing, it brings me joy, and I’m fascinated by it’s complexity.

Nice job, Joe G. Very knowledgable, good analogies.

QOTD: Opening each bottle is like being introduced to a new person every time. The individuality of each wine is endless. Sharing the wine with others and making so many new discoveries is so exciting and such a fun part of life.

  • This episode made me uncomfortable. I felt alot of underlying tension between Gary and Joe. Kind of like a Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck episode. I couldn’t enjoy it. Just being honest.

QOTD: I drink wine because I can have a different one every day of my life and never repeat one.

  • I drink wine because I love how it tastes, and how it always tastes like so many different things! But yet it’s grapes! That is just so amazing to me. It reminds me how things are not always as they seem, and how you can always be surprised by the complexity and depth (or lack there of) of someone or something.

Wine = life. in a bottle. made out of grapes.

  • Joe, Excellent Question of the day:

Why do I drink wine –

I drink wine and coffee for similar reasons – each are so complex and so different year to year, plantation to plantation, vineyard to vineyard that it’s impossible to know everything. I drink for the adventure. Each glass of wine is different, each brew of coffee is unique. Each is beautiful in it’s own way.
