line of the day – ‘a flabby lame duck that went 70 yards’

I’ve loved every blind tasting that Gary has done. How many other major wine critics in the world would be happy to do ‘one-take’ blind tastings? My guess is less than 1. Phenomenal

  • I loved this one Homey….!!!! I liked that you are happy. You were in a very good mood so maybe it was the blind tatsing that did it…???

Maybe it was the fact that the Mottster is gracing your presence. Maybe it’s all that wine in the back of you…?? That would sure make me happy.

    🙂

QOTD: If it makes you happy, I’m happy. But I don’t think every show should be blind. Maybe every Wed…or Tues & Thurs..??? Or Monday….this way you can have Blind Monday, and Laid Back Friday….. now that’s an idea eh..!!!!

Either way I love ya Homey!!!!!

  • What the hell happened there??? I didn’t hit that twice!!!!

  • Sometimes. It adds some flavor to the show. The question really is: are you influenced by reading the ratings before you give a rating? Stats call this bias. Or do the ratings give u a calibration to go higher or lower? Do you fall more into the WA or WS camp? I need some wine myself after all this thinking…

  • Love the blind shows! I’d like to see them more often…but probably not ALL the time.

  • I vote no on going blind all year… but maybe go blind at least once a week, like say, Blind Mondays… that would be a cool tradition to start.

great episode, the blind episodes always rule

QOTD: Absolutely, with non-blind thrown in sporadically kind of like blind episodes are thrown in now

    Great episode Gary!
QOTD: Undecided, but if you do go blind, it would have to be single, not double-blind like today or else you won’t have a chance to share the knowledge! We need the nuances of the wineries themselves, not just the regions!

  • steve w

    yes!

  • QOTD: DO IT!!! Lots of possibilities in blind tastings

QOTD: Blind tasting is OK but not every time. Let’s say one blind tasting a week.

QotD: No, I like variety. Although, I would like to see some blind eps with a variety of varietals. That would be very interesting.

  • Jim

I like how at the end you showed us what wines you tasted 😉

QOTD…only once a week. Every day would get BORING. Like all good things in life, a little bit of moderation goes a long way.

  • Mojave Joe

qotd: no, I love the blind tastings, but, come one, not full time.

Not everyday, but I am a big fan of Clif lede. Glad to see the winery scoring high.

  • Chris D

Yes – go blind – I like it, is there a good reason NOT to do it blind all the time ? I can’t think of one.

    Good Episode.

QOTd: no, I like the blind tastings but you have to mix it up.

  • Rani Haykal

    Great Show!!!

QOTD: I definitely love the blind tasting episodes and I do believe you should throw them in more frequently but not all the shows. I also think it would be cool to throw one wine in you did earlier in the week to see if you get similar tasting notes. I like it when you know the wines and provide specific backgrounds on them. I also like seeing it when you have a preconceived feeling about a wine and it ends up either shocking or disappointing you….makes it very real.

QOTD: While I enjoy the blind episodes, I would prefer to keep them limited. I really enjoy shows when you have guests. Maybe you could include more of the Wine Library staff on some of the shows.

AAMOF I just sent 3 Arizona wines to Matt for you to include in a show, how about having him sit in on that one?
