It’s difficult for a person in his mid-fifties to admit being a fan of someone so young, but yes, I am a fan. And I deeply appreciate your mission to bring a wide variety of wines into popular culture. All your guests contribute different qualities, and it is particularly helpful to aging middle-agers like me to be introduced to fresh, new voices — like the delightful young woman who hosts RocketBoom. And it is profoundly satisfying to encounter the familiar — in a new light. Daniel Johnnes is a genius, and this show taught me more about contemporary Burgundies in 40 minutes than an entire course.

  • Dude, you are relentless on the wine temperature, as well you should be. I prefer my wine at 62.78 degrees and not a fraction of a degree in either direction.

QOTD: “It’s all about the Benjamins!” Seriously, it has to be the way you were brought up.

    Great show! Very informative.

QOTD: “Passion, honesty and always one step ahead of the game. Gary, your the best. Honestly, who can bring the thunder to a subject that baffles so many people. Thousands of wineries, regions, grapes etc…. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making wine fun, accessible, and understandable in a subject matter that you would think needs a P.H.D. It’s all about your palate and pocket book and you never pull a punch, and yes I still forgive you for being a Jets fanatic. Wine is the great equalizer…..so says “The Tao of Drew”

Hey, you guys about the audio. Get a hearing aid, it was fine. This show isn’t about Hollywood quality, it’s about passion. Mott does a great job. It’s a restaurant for GOD’S sake. They even mentioned it in the beginning about “keeping it down” Trust me, we want quality information, guests and Gary V. It’s about the wine…

    Get a grip…

Gary is the “Dan Marino” of wine culture. “The best ever”

That is the highest complement a die hard Dolphan can give to a Jets fan. Just take it Gary, suck it up and grin.

Great show and wonderful guest. Keep working on those interview skills.

QOTD – You believe in what you are doing, without a doubt. You are to be commended on your drive, your quest for excellence. I think you understand the true joy is in the quest. May your fire never fade.

WOW! INCREDIBLE episode! Creme de la creme of passion, knowledge, camaraderie — what a beautiful thing to see.

Love the burgs, thanks for the recommendations.

QUOTD… The personality is the business, the business is the personality. The dude has no choice but to be “on” and dynamic at all times. But it works because it’s never artificial — always genuine, just like the wines he gets most excited about.

  • Cool show, I wish I could go to the event. Burgundy is still one of my preferred wine regions.

QOTD: good question, I have absolutely no idea but I would guess perseverance, stamina, drive, friendship, goal oriented mind and a passion for his craft.

Dude your show is great but please don’t interrupt your guests. You come off impolite and even rude. We know you have a lot to say but you can save it for the shows where you have no guests.

Thanks for a great show and LET THEM TALK!

  • What a great episode! I think I need to jump on your episodes sooner – episode 14 was really great to watch. For any other newcomers, I highly recommend going back and seeing as many of the early episodes as you have time for. They’re a great bit of history of this scene.

QOTD: Chutzpah, Charisma, Class, and Connections. Gary’s magnetic, magnanimous, majestic, and masterful. The bottom line: he’s pervasive and passionate.

    Greetings –

First post and a very short-time fan. I stumbled across you via the Collegehumor.com homepage just a few days ago, and I’ve got to say Mr Vay-ner-chuk that wine library tv has me hooked. I’ve been meaning to post since the first episode (the CH one) and then I went to the Wine & Frozen Foods episode and now I can’t stop watching wine library tv.

I’d like to voice my appreciation not only for your passion but for the masterful presence you have in the web-tv medium. You’re a rock star and you’ve inspired me. I’ve got plans for three different web-tv projects and simply watching you has helped to develop not only the concepts but my motivation for the projects. Oddly enough, long before I ever encountered you I’ve wanted to do a liquor and mixed drinks tasting program, as that is where my alcoholic passions lie. Maybe I can get linked up when it gets moving.

Well, I had to let you know I think you’re phenomenal, I’m a big big fan and have actually spread the word hugely about you to everyone I know.

    Best,

    Michael Schroeder

That was a great and informative episode. Daniel Johnnes just dropped knowledge and it was refreshing. I always have enjoyed my meals from the Boulud empire.

I am definitely a big burg head and this episode is right up my alley.

Awesome episode G. One request though. When you have a guest of this magnitude, who is not afraid to speak to us in language we understand; and one who can teach us much. Try to restrain yourself from interupting him. Watch the episode. You were relentless. Everytime he started to make a point you shouted him down. It got annoying.

A great show, Gary. I follow every show if possible. As I am from Switzerland, I pretty like swiss wines, Merlot from the south of Switzerland (Ticino) and white wine from the french part of Switzerland (Vaud), perhaps a Swiss wine will make it to your show in the near future?

But on one point, I disagree with you, the room temperature thing. As Diablito said it already before, room temperature was defined in the middle age, when we were living in castles without central heating and triple glazing. Room temperature started at 16° C (60.8 F), which is in my opinion the right temperature for light red wines, Beaujolais might served even a little bit cooler. And it goes up to 19° C (66 F) for heavier (rich in tannin) wines. Champagne and light white wines on the other hand, I like to drink at 8° C (46 F), rich white wines up to 12° C (53.6 F).

I’m not that much interested in the right temperature for tasting or buying wines, as you repeat constantly. But it would be quite interesting for me to tell the vaynacs your opinion on what is the right temperature to enjoy champagne, white and red wines. Also Daniel’s metaphor with the slowly undressing lady was quite a good illustration.

QOTD: your ability to create a virtual wine community – the vaynacs – and your honesty

By the way, friend me up! And valid my subcription on WLTV – pleeeeease!!
