    Hi Gary,

I liked Rogov today, he seem like a good guy. It was so funny when you tried to impress him with your spitting. You just pause for a second to look over, and the look on your face is priceless !

I have a question: What makes a wine kosher?

QOTD: No doubt about it. Israel will be around for a very long time, and quite rightly so.

  • ROGOV FTW!!!

Glad to be able to do my own small part in getting you two together :-). This almost makes up for Joly’s BS earlier in the week.

  • E dog — they’re kosher because they’re only handled, throughout the winemaking process (I think from crush onwards) by Shabbat-observant Jews.

Honestly. I think that’s my favorite episode yet. Joly was special, but this was classic. You two got along great.

QOTD: not as it is at this moment.

“Holy Moses let us live in peace
Let us strive to find a way to make all hatred cease
    There’s a man over there, what’s his colour I don’t care
He’s my brother, let us live in peace”

I had some great wine while visiting Israel a couple years back. Really enjoyed the Yarden Wines from Golan Heights. This episode makes me want to go back, drink the wine and check out the beautiful Israeli women.

  • And Rogov is absolutely correct about PS in Israel. It makes fabulous wine in Israel, from almost every serious wine producer!

See Rogov’s recent notes on Israeli PS here.

Rogov is a fascinating gentleman. It’s fun to watch people with a great expertise. I think that (as he recommended at one time) liquor stores should have a Mediterranean shelf as opposed to a Kosher shelf.

QOTD: I just don’t know. I’m sure there are more heartbreaks to come.

I was looking for Gary’s Garyissorry video, but I guess it no longer exists. That was one of the all time funny videos.

QOTD: I’m Jewish.. And I say it’s doubtful. I think they are going to have to move here to the US. Or just take over a small part of Canada. Would Canada even mind?

QOTD: I hope so, but maybe not in its current state. The birth rate of its Arab citizens is much higher than that of its Jewish citizens, even if you leave the Palestinians out of the equation. That alone will cause change to come. Who knows what these changes will be, but it is hard to believe that Israel as we know it today will still be the situation in 75 years.

QOTD: Geographically, it does not look good. But its spirit and what it symbolizes will ALWAYS exist.

Great show, I tried an wine from Israel recently that was terrible ..Yardin. I told myself I would never spend money on wine from that region again. But, now…I may have to revisit.
We used the Yardin wine to boil pasta…….Have you ever had drunken pasta?

  • ? I hope so. If they don’t exist WE have serious problems too. Because someone not so friendly and productive has taken over.

And – the BACON part killed it…

Get Rogov on AGAIN. Great guest.

All + wines. Commit Gary, commit!!

I loved your guest. I will have to seek out some Israeli wines in the Mpls area.

QOTD: Very loaded question. I love it. I definitely hope so. I would think that if it weren’t, that there would be a huge number of good people hurt in the process.
