    Good show. I love bacon pretty much any way I can get it. Being raised in the Southern U.S. it was always a part of breakfast but mom would even have it for dinner sometimes along with fried cabbage, fried potatoes, and cornmeal gravy, talk about amazing!

    QOTD: pt. 1- Other than by itself, there’s nothing much better than a perfectly made BLT.
    pt. 2- Will you please, please, please!!! do another show for all the CKC’s out there. I’m still getting into wine and rarely have more than ten bucks to spend on a bottle so I need some major value plays if I’m going to keep expanding my palate (if it’s not too much to ask throw in the Bodegas Borsao Campo de Borja Vina Borgia, 2005).

  • QOTD 1: I love some bacon with pancakes, where a bit of syrup gets on the bacon. Sweet and salty together really does it for me.

    QOTD: My SO and I both like soft chewy bacon, I think we are the only ones who like it not crispy and burnt.

    QOTD – Roasted on a rack – Roasted on a rack with a liberal amount of brown sugar – Cassoulet

    QOTD 2 – When in the gard darn heck are you going to do a Vinho Verde episode!! It’s Spring. A perfect young wine for a perfect green season.
    Oh and add a Txacoli If you guys carry one. Ive been dying to try one.

    Question for you: How do I get the drool out of my keyboard? Seriously two more hours before I close the shop and the saliva dam just busted wide open!

    I haven’t had a Conundrum the past couple of years, sounds like time to revisit it and will definitely seek out the Paradis

    QOTD: I like my bacon with breakfast and something sweet, jelly or syrup that salty meets sweet play rocks my socks off, Sauternes and Bleu cheese anyone?

Many possibilities and I can’t say I have an all time favorite but one of the contenders is without a doubt freshly fried bacon, crumbled over a cobb salad that’s loaded with hard-boiled egg, fresh gorgonzola, blue cheese dressing, maybe some fresh avocado, and well whatever other heart attack catalyst can be found.

    QOTD for Gary: Have you ever drank Cain from St. Helena? Whether the NV series or Concept, or well Cain Five for that matter. I’m a big Cain believer and love the NV series. And what about wine from Jura??? Especially Vin de Paille!!! I’m dying to see you taste both of them on the Thunder Show.

    QOTD for Gary: A while back you mentioned that you had just eaten at Per Se, and had a tea while eating there that tasted “like clouds”. Any chance you remember the name of the tea? Thanks for the show!! It was certainly legit!

  • QOTD: Depends. If it’s sliced thin, I like it floppy, but it it’s thick, I want it nice and crisp. Really though, I’d eat a bacon steak cooked anywhere from rare to well done.

I don’t think I’m going to go because I don’t want to shell out that kind of cash but I was hoping for another Vayniac get together at Seattle Wine Storage. That event was awesome. Haven’t seen anything yet but it would make for a great birthday night. (4/4, no big deal). If not, suggestions for what I should seek out to pop on the big night?
