SOTD: had a chance to sell some wine for an independent distributor.. didn’t work out cause the guy was too full of himself (not enough time in my life for me to spend w/ a##holes). Anyway I really enjoy how you’ve brought wine back to “the masses” and just wanted to thank you for your passion, dedication and hard work.. it goes a long way, and keeps me thinking of how to Crush it in my world…
Also had a third left of a Magnum bottle of Chateau Marguaux Premier Grand Cru 1985 2 days ago and had nobody to share it with.. so sad.. maybe next time I’ll twitter it and see who hits me up..

SOTD: AHHHHHH!!!!! We need more wine variety in Vegas!!!! I just got into wine about a year ago, and I think I’ve already tasted everything worth tasting here… The thing that pisses me off the most, are the “specialty” wine shops that sell the exact same crap the local grocery stores do. What’s even worse, I throw down some cash to go to wine tastings, and what to they have? Yellow Tail, Fetzer, and loads of other crap (WOOOW! How Exotic!) Gary, you and your father have been talking up Portuguese wines for awhile, and I can’t find a bottle anywhere. Now, I’m sure I can go to one of the many fine restaurants here, and get something new, but I’d have to pay $20 a glass. Don’t get me wrong…Las Vegas is probably the best place to find good California wines outside of California (obviously), But can a brotha get some old world?!? AHHHHHH!! (Breathe Andrew, Breathe)…

GV, great episode on some wines that are readily available to most people. I was excited to hear that your tasting notes on the Stag’s Leap Cab – I will have to check that out. I have several (misguided) friends who think that Rodney Strong Cab is really good. I’ve been trying to find them an alternative that is ACTUALLY GOOD.
SOTD: Gary, I caught a freaking foul ball at the Indians/Reds game last Friday in Cleveland (one-handed, left hand). It was so freaking cool. I have been going to baseball games for 41 years and this was the first time that ever happened. Grady Sizemore hit the foul. Let’s see, what else… I just returned from a business trip in Moscow, Russia for the first time. really interesting place. Peace, Love, Happiness!!

I didn’t read all the comments, but wasn’t the cab the 2006?
SOTD=Love the show, but how about shorter episodes, 10-15 min. I would be able to watch more without giving up too much time.
Thanks for all your hard work.

SOTD: I love your show and listening to your thoughts and opinions on the wines chosen each day, but I hate that most of the time they are not available for me to try here in the ‘wine police state’ of Pennsylvania. Maybe sometime you could do a show of all PLCB approved wines. 🙂

Gary – I appreciate you continuing to pump out quality shows with everything else you have going on. I’d like to see you rock the blind tastings some more, and I dig the shows where you provide a little insight into the business side of the wine industry.
Congrats on being a new Dad and keep up the great work!

I am a huge jets fan and a liquor store employee, naturally a fan of gary v. My whole family worked in the liquor business and we are from the great state of new jersey. I stumbled on your show about 6 months ago and have been a fan ever since. Thank you for entertaining me as well as helping me appreciate wine in an unsnobby way. I think you have helped a lot of people get into this world because they know they don’t have to be rich and they know they don’t need an ascot to know about good wine.

Hey Gary,
Been working an insane amount of hours and got behind a few shows.. Enjoyed this episode. Still haven’t watched the Sake episodes because I want to watch the whole thing at once. Dying to know if you gave me credit for recommending it months ago on Facebook… ha ha!
Anyhoo, love watching your show because it puts a smile on my face EVERY time!!
Thanks for keeping it real!

I’d like to see WLTV hit FriendFeed so we can get some interesting wine conversations going there. The platform has come along way and it’s future looks promising.

I discovered this show recently and was instantly hooked. This was a truly outstanding episode. Anyone can wax wine nerd on $60 Burgundies. Not that I mind seeing that, quite the contrary. But this episode was particularly valuable because I have family and friends that are NOT into wine (my parents still drink White Zin out of the box) and I want to be able to share wines with them that they’ll appreciate and be able and willing to find/buy on their own. Great stuff!

Hi Gary,
I just want to say thank you.
Thank you for continuously pumping out episodes. Watching the episodes became an integral part of my day. Over the last years I have truly expanded my palate and gotten into new wines, thank you for your assistance in that. And I am still in touch with some of the ThunderCruisers, it was a great idea to arrange the event.
All that shows me that you have contributed to my life being as bright as it is.
Cheers,
Patrick

I’ve been away from the show for a stretch, but am back and really enjoyed this episode. Huge mix of wines. Damn…nearing 700 shows, hard to believe. Don’t know how you keep up the energy and the freshness of the shows. Truly amazing.

Gary:
You have a very good show. I would make a couple of recommendations to make it a little better.
a) Pay more attention to pronunciations. You just mangle some very badly!
b) Don’t interrupt guests as much. Take a hint from many radio and TV interviewers. Have them bring 5 questions and you paraphrase them in your inimitable. In that manner they get their points accross.
Be spontaneous as usual but keep a steady flow of information during the interview.

GV you are bringing the thunder through the years. Love the passion.
Just got back from a tour of Central Texas wineries and loved the tastings.
Had a great time with the wife, thunder still there.

Hey GV, great episode! The Flying Winemaker wines sound really interesting.
Your comment, “You only get to play this game once” is a great way to look at things. I have just about had it with my current 9-5/40hr. set paycheck lifestyle and am about to pull the trigger to Crush It in my own way.
Thanks for the inspiration! Looking forward to episode #700!

Loved the show GV. Been very busey lately but caching up on past shows. I talk about you to my friends that think they know wine. Some are turned off, (but they are wine posers) others think your genuine.
Screw Caps to you

GV – I enjoyed the show. I thought that it was going to be a disaster at the beginning, but the last 2 wines provided some redemption.
I am a little late in getting these comments out, but I comment on all shows!
Statement – I heard MJ’s spiritual advisor, who happened to be a Rabbi, make a very serious statement regarding MJ’s death. It actually applies to more than just MJ.
His point was that MJ’s death was tragic in that a person so hounded by the media was being hounded in death by the media on the type of ceremony to hold to honor his life. The rabbi’s point was that this a time of mourning and reflection for the Jackson family, his children, and his close friends. However, it was turned into a circus.
Americans are far too caught up in media and celebrity. Focus on your family and their upbringing and doing good deeds for mankind. Who cares what Person X wore to the Oscars.

line of the day – ‘big and bright…if you like…brig fruit’
Old school episode with no messing. Just the smell, and the taste of several wines. I think GV would describe this effort as ‘focussed’.
