    I always wanted to try EIEIO. I am a big Willamette valley fan.
    Cool you got bacon on this pinot. I had a Yalumba (Barossa) shiraz/viognier at a tasting that had bacon on the nose. I only thought the wine was average though.

    Hey Gary, here in NC, Childress makes a wine for the Lexington Barbeque Festival called “Fine Swine Wine”. It’s merlot based with a little residual sugar that actually matches up pretty well with the sauce. It always sells out. QOTD: My favorite old world food is probably in Boston at LaFagmilia’s. It’s just a huge bowl of authenic pasta and sauce. My prediction tonight: Bills 16, Jets 15.

It’s merlot based with a little residual sugar that actually matches up pretty well with the sauce. It always sells out. QOTD: My favorite old world food is probably in Boston at LaFagmilia’s.     qotd2: coq au vin. I don’t eat chicken or pork anymore, so I once made a version with tempeh and soy bacon that was great, too. I have to try that again. I love everything I’ve had that involves a serious amount of wine and onion-family veggies in the recipe.

    Is a NV vintage wine necessarily bad? You said “pushing the price, especially for a NV wine”? Champagne is NV?

    QOTD: Would have to be Italian, but closely followed by Croatian, Spainish and Greek. Oh and does Turkish count?

    YO! People gots to drink Jersey Pinot. It is very nice sometimes. We have the weather, decent soil, almost too fertile on account of the glaciers stopping here and essentially plowing the northern hemisphere’s top soil onto us.

    I won’t be trying the swine wine because the waiting list is already about 2 years deep and it didn’t sound too hot.

    QOTD Favorite Old World Cuisine is my people’s; Armenia, which is basically Middle Eastern with Eastern European influences. I will destroy any chef who tries to step to my dolmatis.

    I like classic French cooking. The kind you get in the 2-3 star restaurants in the countryside. I have had the swine wine and I tend to like it as a nice pinot.
