line of the day – ‘if I allowed anyone to pay $50 for this wine, you would come to the store and punch me directly in the face’

Meh, guests didn’t improve. Not GV’s fault but that’s the way the cookie crumbles

Why such small stemware for the the Taupenot Merme Morey St Denis? The 2007 must be quite tight especially in a small glass. At least it is not a “tumbler” like at Keller’s new Yountville restaurant (see discussino on WCWN blog)

QOTD: a girl I dated used to treat me like a circus trampoline after drinking $4 a bottle(that would be 1.5L) wine – Not sure if it was sexy or scary but by far the best QPR of my life

Good show. Shame that the Minervois wasn’t showing well, there are some rocking wines from that region.

    QOTD 1 Laura Catena
QOTD 2 Top of a beautiful waterfall, good companion, JJ Prum Wehlener Sonnenur.

Woman in wine is Morgan Clendenon. Her wines are getting up there with some of the best in Condrieu.

Sexiest wine experience: Well one day at a bachelor party someone put a Magnum of Oupus on the floor and the stripper………..let’s say delivered it to the bachelor. Thank God she did not decant it

Sexy Wine experience: high altitude (mountain), in his car overlooking view, laughing and eating cheese on Trisket crackers (salty) with white grapes and drinking white wine all at the same time quickly, in love but in assessment 😉

QOTD1: I’ve always been intrigued by Marimar Torres. I love her first name, her last name is the best name to have in Spain (for wine-making), her dad bought her that great parcel of land in Russian River, I loved her pinots and her chardonnays – not sure what’s happening there now. She is such a free spirit and adventuress.

QOTD2: It’s hard to think of the word “sexy” without thinking of Hugh Jackman. Put a bottle of wine in his hand – he should be shirtless (think Australia not X-Men) – and there’s a sexy wine experience. I find white wine to be more sensual than red wine – that pale cool frosted glass that warms in the hand over time releasing the floral, fruit and vanilla odors and flavors (I’m thinking of chardonnay.) When I drink a little too much I immediately become extremely ill for hours – people only get near me to make sure I’m still alive. So maybe wine is a different kind of experience for me.

Fun show! We are headed to France and Italy for the first time next summer-loving all of the wines we are tasting in preparation 🙂

QOTD #!: As the wa wine girl I have to give love to DAMA wines in WW. Dawn and Mary make some fantastic Cabs (Gary V: I know your palate isn’t loving these right now, but when you are feeling Cabs again-give them a try). The Cowgirl Cab is a whole lotta fun for a girls night out at a great price point!

    QOTD #2: Hee hee.

Really enjoyed the show. I would love to attend something like this if you are even back in the Denver area. I do think however that the guys where soft-balling the wines, so it was good you where there to try and keep it a bit more honest 🙂

QOTD1: I don’t nerd it up enough to name ANY wife maker forget a specific/favorite female one.

QOTD2: I think wine has been a much more ‘functional’ type of a beverage for me so I can’t think of anything particularly sexy related to wine.

This was a good episodeood interaction with the guests, they seemed well qualified.

QOTD – Heidi Barrett, I was really impressed with her on the episode here.

QOTD – Cheap champagne on the wedding night -nuff said.

You know, I liked this 2 part episode, and these seemed like great guys, but I was more in the mood for ahosrter show, i guess, cause this show felt like it took forever… still, nice job – great conversation.

QOTD1 – Hard to pick one women, but I do like Jancis, or maybe Heidi Barrett from episode 715…

QOTD2 – also hard to pick the sexiest wine moment as wine is certainly involved with a lot of romantic dinners and other ‘couple’ time… let me go with this: when doing some wine basic sessions for wine club at grad school, I would have to answer questions from the attendees. These events tended to turn more into cocktail parties after the learning, but people would ask me questions during the whole event. When attractive women would ask me things about wine, and be really interested in how i answered them, that was enjoyable…

  • Tau Digamma

Great episode and it’s nice to see the 20-something wine crowd being represented.
QOTD1: Tie: Morgan Clendenen, the Viognier goddess and winemaker for Cold Heaven Cellars in Santa Barbara, and Terri Pebley Delhamer, owner of Keyways Winery in Temecula (their Chenin Blanc from 40+ year old vines is killer.)
QOTD2: Drinking wines made by either one of them.

Very enjoyable episode. Like the live audience format. QOTD1 – I currently adore Barbara Shinn of Shinn Estate Vineyards out on the North Fork of Long Island. She’s got a thriving little biodynamic/organic estate putting out complex, thoughtful wines that are a beautiful reflection of the North Fork’s unique terroir. QOTD2 – The ladies back in my undergrad days always loved the fridge stocked with cheap bubbly…

QOTD2: I’d say romantic instead of sexy. My husband and I visited France in 1996 when we were young wine drinkers. We discovered a love for Gevrey Chambertin. On special occasions we enjoy a Gevrey Chambertin or another special bottle from Burgundy.
