    Great show. Love the Nebbiolos. Although I always tend to go for the Barolo I am going to have to purposely seek out the Barbaresco. I have not had any of these. I have had the Cigliuti Campass Barbera 2004 and it was incredible…really blew my doors off. Superbowl pick: Saints 37, Patriots 35. My son, who has seemingly grown up watching each of these episodes with me differs: Colts 27, Vikings 24 in OT.

    Big breath here we go.. I have spent the entire morning and afternoon reading everything I could get my hands on from you and Antonio Galloni. I’m on a mission to invade Italy. I’m about to build my cellar and the Barollo, Barbaresco, and Tuscany Sangiovese wines are going to occupy a large portion of it.

    Tonight when Cindy unveils the wine of the evening, bring the thunder to us Vayniacs and let it be that 2005 Ronchi Barbaresco.

    Great show. Love the Nebbiolos. Although I always tend to go for the Barolo I am going to have to purposely seek out the Barbaresco. I have not had any of these.     Great call on the barbaresco show. I think they’re much more approachable than the barolos. I just don’t have the 20-30 year patience for the latter.

  • Barbaresco FTW. The first “expensive”(something like $240US) bottle of wine I ever bought was a Barbaresco. With time I found less expensive ones, San Silvestro and have developed an taste for it. Yes, great round wines.

    QOTD: I don’t even know whre to start, I don’t like to make Sb predictions because every time I think I get it Blam!, something happens to my favorite team.

    My latest package from WL arrived this morning, and it contained, among other things, a bottle of Barbaresco. Imagine the smile on my face when this clip shows up in the afternoon!

    To all of you who complain that barbarescos are too pricey – I happen to think they deliver more bang for buck than a lot of Bordeaux, red Burgundies and Cali cabs out there.

  • Barbarescos are in my opinion less often going to disappoint while they may not reach the most spectacular high’s of great Barolo on a consistent level I think they win

    I can’t wait to try a Barbaresco. I had some Nebbiolos before, but never a Barbaresco. I have some gift cert money for a couple wine stores, so I’ll be checking that out.
