Great wines, crazy hat and an inadvertently blurted out swear word (handily pointed out by Mott)

We’ll have to budget for some Barbaresco, it’s been a long while since we’ve had any…
QOTD: not a clue, I mostly follow the other football, so we’re focused on South Africa in this household.
Are you coming down with another cold? As I recall, you pop on a hat (indoors) when you’re not feeling well…

GV, just thought of another idea for 2010 shows, what if you did an “old world week” and a “new world week” to just show some of the variety and quality that is out there from both schools of wine.

QOTD: Would love to see the Pats, but don’t think that they have the D this year. I’ll go out on a limb and say Eagles 27, Bengal 13. As long as that punk Peyton Manning doesn’t win, I will be happy. Oh year, not farve either- he is such a manipulative little baby.

    Gary,

You briefly suggested that Barbaresco tastes different from Barolo, although both are made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in a different region. Could you elaborate on the main differences? I love Barolo but I have no experience with Barbaresco.

Football predictions? No prediction because Niels Bohr, the Nobel laureate in Physics–who ought to be pretty smart–said: “Prediction is very difficult, especially if it’s about the future.”

This quote is often erroneously attributed to Yogi Berra, who, to his credit, did explain why predictions are so difficult: “The future ain’t what it used to be.” I think Yogi Berra may be even smarter than Nields Bohr.

GV, you were in rare form tonight. Thanks for the “shitout!” Will have to try some of the Barbaresco soon.

My 4 year old son got a Giants cap as one of his Christmas presents, and just yesterday was telling me he wanted a Jets cap for his birthday. He’s never even seen your show. What gives?

A large part of 2010 is dedicated to exploring Italian wines, as 2009 was to France and California for me. Barbaresco(s) are on order!

QotD: Saints over the Chargers, 31-24.

    QotD: Colt – Dallas 38 – 27

If you do an episode on Barolo, Barbera or Dolcetto I would recommend Brezza wines. I just had all three of these from Brezza and they were fantastic.

I Loved the “Thank you, Your Welcome” bit at 3:24! Very funny. I am going to grab one of these and drink it with my father. I will let you know how I like it.
