line of the day – ‘we need a Mott cam’

Basically GV could say to Mott – ‘this smells like Bruce Willis’ arse on a Friday’ and Mott would reply – ‘Yeah I get that’. Here it’s ‘sardines’ that GV bowls out there and the Mottster picks it up immediately! Comedy value very high

  • I definitely can meet you halfway Gary.

QOTD: I’m listening to my Pandora.com stations, reading/commenting blogs related to my topic so I can “Crush It” and I’ve been watching a lot of TED and conf. vids of you and others like you that I follow.

  • Top 10, but I’ve actually seen the ep. Haha.

Oh man I think Cahors is completely undersnowed by the overload of attention for Mendoza/Argentina Malbecs. Cahors Malbec can be so charming. Just like Mott says; everything is in balance. So nice show!

    QOTD:
    Listening: Nina Simone
    Watching: Better Off Ted
    Reading: Nescio – Titaantjes/De Uitvreter/Dichtertje (a famous dutch novelist)

    Cheers!

  • Braden G

    Yeah… top 10!!

  • Paryb

wow, what happened to the new comments section? Did we revert back to the old style?

  • Phredd

Good show. Nice to see the wines come through, and really interesting to see the past Cindy offer make it to the show.

QOTD: A. Listening to Old Blind Dogs these days. A little bit of Scottish music from the early part of the decade. I love Jim Malcolm’s voice and it is too bad that he left the band. His solo stuff isn’t nearly as good, and the band isn’t as good, either. B. Only thing I’m regularly watching is Duke basketball. I’m looking forward to the Olympics, which I think is going to make my DVR smoke. C. I’m reading what I always read: history. In this case, “Battles of the Revolutionary War: 1775-1781” by W. J. Wood. All geek stuff, but that’s me.

  • It’s always a fun nickname for the lady friends…

Great package on that second one. Never paying that much for it.

    QOTD:
    L) Neil Young
    W) Season 2 of Breaking Bad in prep for season 3 in March (the only show I actually look forward to)
    R) “As They See ‘Em” A really interesting, behind the scenes, look at the life of major league umpires.

Why did the comments section go old school today???

Cool topic… the only Cahors I’ve experienced have been on the lower end, and have come off quite green, rustic and tree-barky…

very good story, love the elephant, love the dog more though…

  • definitely different styles, winelou! Cahors tends to be less fruit driven, more old world and rustic. If you can, pick out an inexpensive Argentinian Malbec and a Cahors and you’ll see the difference!

  • maybe just a mirror behind GV so we can see Mott?

  • Anonymous

They are honestly nothing like I thought they were going to be. I good read for anyone looking for something a tad bit different.

    DC,
I would have to agree Barsac wines are definitly delicious. Good luck on getting your WSET Diploma, I passed my Advanced test not too long back if I didnt decided to go back to college I would have started on the Diploma program. Have you taken any of the parts yet? How did they go? (Obvioiulsy I plan on taking it when I get out of school, and I cannot wait to dive back into it again.)

On a seperate note I think that Gary needs to do a bi-weekly viewers vote tasting, where we get to pick from a preselected list of what we want to see. I know he did one awhile back where we submitted what we wanted him to do on facebook which I thought was totally awesome. It would be great to see it happen more frequently.
    Cheers!

  • After this, I’m going to watch the most recent episode of 24 on Hulu.com
My Ipod has about 4400 songs and growing and I always shuffle because you hear stuff you’d never pull out and it’s great – big alt country fan, love van Morrison, the dead, Lucinda Williams, ironically a big old school jazz fan as well, Miles, Coltrane, etc. too much to list.
Reading is pretty random but I still read Rolling Stone at 55, New Yorker, NYT, and tons of crap on the web.
Have a bottle of the 2000 Pigeonierr from Cindy – may have to break it open after watching this – do you recommend a decant?

  • For Mott-Cam: Two-way camera. One lens on subject, one on vid-o-grapher. http://goo.gl/iXbQ
