line of the day – ‘we need a Mott cam’

Basically GV could say to Mott – ‘this smells like Bruce Willis’ arse on a Friday’ and Mott would reply – ‘Yeah I get that’. Here it’s ‘sardines’ that GV bowls out there and the Mottster picks it up immediately! Comedy value very high

Hey, I am also studying for the MS level 3 test. If your not already a member, you should check out the Guild of Sommeliers sight. There’s an annual fee, but it is incredibly helpful. Lots of study materials and forums. There are also study groups and blind tasting groups you can join up with. Several in the NY area if I remember correctly. Good luck with the exam.

On the Mott Cam … Hell yea, need a Mott cam for these special moments.

I will be seeking out some Cahors after this episode. I have been loving 2007 Cotes du Rhone lately though.

  • aeo2164

    Mott cam= yes.

I'm listening to Passion pit and A lot of classical lately.
I'm reading all of the Sherlock Holmes short stories.
I'm watching Mythbusters and Science channel.

And just as a little fan input…I would love to see a riesling show in the near future. Its the varietal that is getting the most of my attention as a person who has never drank before. It seems to be one of the most difficult wines to make. I would like to know more about them. 🙂

  • SamKw

A vote in favor of Mott-cam.

    QOTD-
Reading: As a college student majoring in the humanities, what I'm reading right now often has nothing to do with what I'd read otherwise. Anyway, several of my classes this semester seem to have converged on Kant, so I've been reading from several of his books. Interesting stuff, but haaard.
    Watching: WLTV, and Office.
Listening: Arabic radio channels over the Internet.
Drinking: Last bottle I had was the Havens Bourriquot. I still have another bottle, but I'm gonna save it. Will likely pop some barbarescos soon.

Watching… I'm in central Bali right now so no TV access but watching the rice farmers and the Thunder Show.
    Reading… Tribes and Lateral Thinking
Drinking… 100% import tax on wine leaves the options here slim. Thai iced coffee for me right now.

Yes to Mott cam, missed most of the NFL season (left during week 6) but heard the Patriots sucked this year, love it.

  • alienrelic

The Sherlock Holmes stories are great. Underrated. Literature as well as a damn good read.

  • question: how and why does one get points?

  • Riddler

Thanks for the primer on Cahors. I really enjoyed it.

I'm an ardent supporter of the Mott cam! Rig it like the old Late Night Thrill Cam Letterman used when he was on NBC. All you need is a ceiling-mounted track and some cheap sound effects.

    QOTD:

Listening – A lot of Brahms lately.
Watching – Damages on FX, a highly addictive show.
Reading – I'm Down, by Mishna Wolff, a very funny memoir.

Thanks for another piece of you

    QOTD:
    Listening; Always
    Watching: Chuck
    Reading: Wall St Journal

  • Great!, The “Laverne and Shirley” reference made me smile. Malbec is one of my go to wine varietals when I have parties, they always make people converse in such a good way. $150.00USD sounds like a lot but if it does have all that you mentioned I'm game, I like tasting new and exciting (for me at least) wines.

Q1: Yes on the “Mott Cam”. Hell Yes…

QOTD: Listening: Vague, I know, but anything on my iTunes library… I keep it on SHUFFLE

  • zrm

Loving it gary. I am really feeling the Malbec thunder lately myself. Hope I can find the inexpensive one at the store here in VA. And a huge vote for a mott cam!

Just a random suggestion for a show. “Guess the box?” A blind tasting of 4 or 5 wines in the value price range and have some of them in different containers (boxed wine vs tetra pack vs screw top vs usual) and see if you can tell whats what.

QOD! Listening to a lot of Johnny Cash and Lady GaGa now. Watching my fav shows are on hulu so I am watching Chuck and Stargate SG-1. Now reading gets iffy. I am in grad school so i don't have much a choice in my reading. But I always read the Economist every week. so thats the one.
