Lines of the day, This wine smells like a steak’ and Mott’s pretentious home run, ‘would you say it’s big but it doesn’t lose control’. I bet Mott can’t believe he said that.

Steee – rike. Great show helped by a couple of stonking wines

*edit* when I was a wee lad,
Why I’m not an English major. So much for being cute. I’ll stick to tyke or kid from now on. Good catch.

yeah, 2010 playoffs here we come!

Lol! I love your enthusiasm but I’ve learned over the years that it’s
probably better to wait until, at least, after the all-star break to start
    making predictions 🙂

  • hey, does that mean we should have a tailgate at a Mountaineers or Lake Monsters game?

  • I’ve often thought that it would be kind of fun if folks attached a self-approximated BAC as the evening goes on.
    BB – BAC .05%

What is your job again K Murph ? See below and wake up honey … I’d put you in the warehouse.

89+ points Robert Parker: “In any event, the 2007 Isosceles Reserve is a powerful effort that seemed very closed when I tasted it. It will not be released until later this year, so I hope to get another look at it in 6-7 months. A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot, it is dense and concentrated, but the tannins seem slightly rustic, and the wine is firm, hard, and austere. However, there is enormous concentration and extract underneath the framework of this big, dense wine.” (02/10)

  • Classic example of self ownage here Bobby. Read the word immediately after “Isosceles” in your quoted material. Gary’s on camera description should have tipped you off that the tasting note was for a different wine. The wine Gary tasted – the regular bottling on the Isosceles – had 8% cab franc and 4% merlot.

If KMurph belongs in the warehouse, you’re in the cardboard box outside the door.

1st – GREAT to see the Iron Sheik on the show….Can you pair him up with Nikolai Volkoff next time? Add a Slickster figure too – and WOW!

Favorite baseball year was 1977. As a little boy I had the chicken pox. So I was home from school the whole week and Mom let me stay up late and watch every out of every game.

I was a Yankees fan because of meeting Catfish Hunter and Reggie Jackson. Just remember REGGIE-REGGIE-REGGIE. Hit a homer in his last official at bat the game before, then 3 HR's the next game.

Big G, Thanks for doing your best to bring out some good Vino. I enjoyed this one, a little throw back style. You took your time and we got to have some fun. Thanks.

QOTD: LA Dodgers! LA in all sports and with no LA Football Team, I bleed Chicago Bears!

First, I don't know about you, but I get tons of variation in flavor between the different colors of Smarties (and that is what you were referring to) White is by far my favorite.
    2. That was 10 steaks describing the nose. I'm impressed!
    3. If Mott doesn't take you up on that preseason game, I'll go! It would be a hoot to see you lose it at a Jets game in person, and I'm sure you throw a killer tailgate.
QOTD: I'm not a huge baseball follower, but when I was a wee lass I played for a local little-league that stole the name and logo from the Milwaukee Brewers, and given that my dad was born there too, that's probably my choice.

  • NY Pete

drink the goddamn wine will ya!

  • jparadise

Great show, definitely back in the groove.

QotD: I'm a bit apathetic with MLB I used to go see games on the spur of the moment all the time now it's a whole production and a big hit in the pocket. So I would have to go with the Brooklyn Cyclones, small time family baseball fun all the way.

  • Mariners Mariners Mariners!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait for Bedard and Lee to get into the rotation. And have my trip planned to get out to see the M's take on the Yankees in Yankee Stadium in June! So pumped! First time to the Big City and to Yankee Stadium.

  • Ray

Great show, Gary! Always a good time when the Sheik is in the house. I'm looking for the Foxen Pinot now. Had a steak before I watched the show, so I know the nose you are talking about…lol.

QOTD-I'm a Blue Jays fan and from VA. I was a 2nd baseman and idolized Alomar Jr. when he was on the team. At least until he went nuts and spit on the ump. Oh and how can I forget our run in the early 90's.

PS – Is that a Cartier Santos watch?

  • NY Pete

Chris Mott is the master of all he surveys.
