I have tried the Jonesy, and It Is Good. Sort of like prune juice, plums, raisins with maple syrup and burnt caramel. It’s a ton of fun! Yum. It could be fortified Shiraz being from Australia and all and not true Port, but well, it sure tastes good and for ten bucks!
QOTD: I like apple cider, especially the murky kind, but can’t think of a brand. Probably ‘Trader Joe’s’ since I like pretty much everything they offer (not the 2 Buck Chuck though).

  • Gary,

Just tried the Jonesy Tawny Port today. Very dark brown/red color. Absolutely loved it. First time I’ve had a Port. Will be in my cellar in the near future.

I know this is an old archive…..however.

Hat’s off to Robert Parker; regarding Argiolas Costamolino Vermentino !! I agree 110% with his score. This is one of the very best Italian White wines I have ever had! It is complex, bright and delicious.

Trevor Jones Tawny Port..I’d score about 80 and that’s being generous. Yoy said it right Gary when you said “Ricolaaaaa !!” It tastes like cheap bad cough drops. It simply sucks !! It should in no way be compared to any Portugues Port; even the least expensive. It is bad bad bad!

fav apple cider lol? i guess zigler’s since that’s all I think i’ve had and it does the trick.
Gary, How about you doing an episode where taste a slew of different charbono’s?
An episode on vin jaune’s would be awesome too, don’t think I’ve seen you do either of those before.

Think I have had the Las Rocas, none of the others, not a Tawny fan, like ruby ports. QOTD-not a apple cider fan. http://www.winelx.com
