I have allways wanted to learn more about wine but with running a kitchen I don’t have much free time now I can learn at home. Thanks a bunch Gary you rule.

Holy crap! Good grief that weather reminds me of the lake effect snow we used to get growing up in Rochester, NY coming off Lake Ontario. Gary, you da man! The best snow day? Well, I can only think of the monster ice storm we got way back in 1991. We were without power for a week and cooked all our meals in the fireplace. One of the few times they ever cancelled school up there!

    OMG,
Gary, you are one crazy dude!

My mother would get an heart attack if she had seen me like this outside on the snow (plus she would probably give me a smack to the face;)

LOL!!! That was fantastic! But I thought it was going to have more to do with how weather, i.e. rain/dry/hot/cold affect the grapes during growing and how this affects the finished wine.

Damn! I remember that storm, it took me 3 hours to drive home from work and almost got blown off the highway!

Awesome show!!! I was laughing so hard when the wine bottles starting moving too!

Thanks for doing what you do! We really appreciate it at our house.

Maybe it’s cause I’m a canuck and I’m in the middle of a snowstorm right now, but this one has replaced 148 as my all time favourite ep. We didn’t get a recap at the end on how weather affects wine though - maybe you could do it again??! Love the wine glass blowing across the table.

My husband and I watched this episode a couple weeks ago and had to rewind it several times to watch your glass slide off the table! You are hilarious! Thanks for not being a stuffy wine snob!

We’ve got nothing to do with it. It’s ALL you, Gary! You have changed the face of wine tasting forever! For the better, imho…

    Cheers!

Hahaha! That’s AWESOME! I hope you didn’t get sick after filming that episode. I’ll have to watch the next episode and see how things turned out after you (and the wine) had a chance to warm up again. :-)

    Gary YOU ROCK!

I hope you didn’t get sick after this episode.

–To answer your questions about my favorite snow day:–
Being stuck at Hunter Mountain after 20 inches of snow fell and not being able to make it to work the next day. I had a legit excuse and skied the following day without any guilt.

OK, now I know why I left Delaware and moved to Boise - The Banana Belt! Robin told me to be sure and watch this and I’m impressed. Hope you had your longjohns on under that T-Shirt! Good catches - we’ll sign you up to BSU as a wide receiver. More fun and exciting than the Jets. Cheers!

I’ve seen a few of your episodes you have great enthusiasm but I wonder about your scoring method
It seems very arbitrary and relies too much on what other people have to say. Dont get me wrong i love your episodes and I think you are probably very knowledgeable but on a professional level your scoring method leaves something to be desired. I mean this in the best way. Peerhaps you could do an episode on scoring wine properly. I will continue to watch. best wishes.

best episode ever Gary! I love the ingenuity (and the guts)…I just wished in addendum you were able to cover the effects of seasonal weather on growth vintages (especially with all the 05 Bordeaux hype)
