    2006 Pazo Pondal Rías Baixas Leira is number 21. This is another one of the wines that we just tasted and bought. It’s a “different” Albariño. Lighter. Very fine and delicious

    QOTD:95% with food, 5% without. I enjoy wine on its own (and always start with the wine before I eat anything so I can get a feel for the wine first) but you can get so much more with a good food pairing.

    Loved the episode, I always have loved chardonnay, oak monster in the house!or not. Food with wine is my passion. High acid wines rule! they are usually better food matches. I do like the over the top fruit bombs, but they are not the best food wines, I usually add extra black pepper to my venison (I am a bambi killer) just so the Austrailian Shiraz wines that I often drink have a fighting chance to go with the wine. For me the fruit bombs are like a substitute for beer, a nice relaxing drink after work, or watching a fire. In my opinion there is a time and a place for many different styles and varieties of wines at my house.

    I am a big nose person, they say that i dizzy the wine and then snort it almost but i enjoy the smell so much it translates to good taste.
