Lately the everyday wines in the house have been various Spanish Reds, and a cuple Aussies (Layer Cake Shiraz and Pillar Box come to mind). Two to three years ago I didnt like much coming out of Spain, but recently I have found several wines in the $10-$15 that have been great – not too expensive but offering something interesting.

Hey, when Mott links it up, he should put TARGET=”_blank” so that it opens a new window and your site stays open also.
Which reminds me, you have GOT to make a “Mott Link It UP!” T-Shirt. Just make sure you offer it in XXXL for Fat A$$es like me.
You gotta get on those Boston Wine Expo people. They do not show you as an exhibitor.

Susan instructed me to post my interest in a get together in NC with Gary. I am all for it. Asheville is lovely place to visit, and I wouldn’t have to travel :) I have to admit the coast is nice as well. Hope it is not too late for my vote!

QOTD – I like Chateau Sovereign. Can usually get this for about 14 bones. I do not drink everyday but I find it can provide good QPR year in and year out. Also a big fan of Fransciscan ($17), Mondavi Napa is back the last few years and can score this for $18 locally. Oh I almost, forgot I also enjoy the Falesco Vatiano always good for $8.

    Cheers

You should definately come to nc. I know at least three people besides me who love the show. I work in wine retail and drop your name alot when selling wines. I have enjoyed all of your recommendations that I have tried so far.

QOTD: Douros and daos are my everyday wines, for the great prices and extreme drinkability.

I like the variety so I rarely have more than two bottles of the same wine on hand. For my white go to:

Domaine Pichot Le Peu de la Moriette Vouvray

    For red:

Laurel Glen Reds – predominantly Zinfandel, although teh 2006 has zin, petite syrah and carignane in equal proportions

    Yo Gee…WHAAAZ ZUUUUUUUUUUUUUP !!?! :)
Dat Cartlidge & Brown Cab sounds like a great everyday/party/CKC wine!!
    Gotta try somma dat….

QOTD: A “go-to everyday” wine ?? Don’t really have ONE. Always like
to vary it up. That’s what makes Wine sooo much Fun !!!
