Never have so few (er, 1) said soooo much about about so nothing! This made my top five of the worst episodes-to-date.

My goto’s would be catello di pogio moscato d’asti, hardy’s siegersdorf riesling or Peter Lehmen Barossa Semillon.

    Happy new year Gary.

Thanks for all the comments on the “economical” wines you drink day to day. I have tried almost all of them and I wll peak around for the few unkowns.
PS–Joel Gott 2006 Zinfandel at $14 bones is the new standard for now.

QOTD: I do not have an everyday wine. I strongly adhere to the try new things approach. If I buy more than one bottle of something, it is to try it over the course of time, months or years. I really try to mix it up.

I tasted all the rex & goliaths together on the same day. Although most of them were not really all that notable, the Cabernet was definitely the most bland and uninteresting of the bunch…i liked their Pinot Noir best and its made with french grapes, not Cali ones…go figure

QOTD: I don’t have an everyday wine. I’d be hard pressed to think of a wine I’ve bought more than once or twice in fact…I taste new wines every week!

QOTD: I’m trying not to have an everyday wine. ANY wine is my everyday wine. Currently I’m trying to drink more earthy vegital wines because it’s easy for me to break down the fruit in a fruity wine but I’m trying to train my palate to pick up the earthy/vegital components. Plus it’s fun to get out of your comfort zone.

Cheap California Cabernet? Do they ever really impress? Maybe the first year – then the price doubles! Don’t know why I didn’t comment on this episode earlier.

I have to agree with Mario, I just bought this wine at a local grocery here in So California. I am drinking it now and just googled it to find out what others thought. Dobbin Lane Cab 2005 is very very nice. I think I picked it up or under $8.00 too.

One of the best Cabs I’ve had is the 2005 Frontera Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot mix, from Chile. It’s a fantastic, inexpensive wine, and you won’t be sorry you tried it. It’s extremely versatile…
