Favorite Pinot Grigio…can’t think of any. I think I’ll try one tonight. Also, what’s up with people making fun of how you speak, like the comment below mine!? You say “grigio” however you want. You bring real smiles to many people, and you ought not forget that. Thanks, and keep the great shows coming.

    Hey Gary

Did you realise that the Grigio in Pinot Grigio is pronounced Greejoe and not Greezeeoh? Grigio is Italian which means you pronounce it this way.

I want to come to the party but haven’t figured out where to stay yet. I have had the Chelhalem Pinot Gris and about 1/2 dozen others from Oregon and Washington. My favorite Pinot Gris are from Alsace though.

Good show - I am a definite fan of the Pinot G’s.

QOTD 1 - I am not sure whether I can make it. I have a trip planned to Juarez, MX and it may interfere.

QOTD 2 - Alois Legeder from Alto Adige - rocks!

    1: OMG I wish
2: I really enjoy Alsatian Pinot Gris (great with a mushroom and bacon omlette), I may have a line on some 01 Grand Crus from Josmeyer. The other one that stands out is the A to Z Pinot Gris from Oregon for it’s great value (liked that one with a salad with bacon and scallops on it).

The only Pinot Gris I’ve ever had was from Sterling Vineyards. I recall really enjoying it.

QOTD1: No - 12,300km is just a wee bit too far to travel.

QOTD2: JOSEPH ‘d’Elena’ Pinot Grigio, would be my fave PG.

QOTD: I had an off-dry style Pinot Gris from Fielding Estate that I enjoyed, which is saying a lot since I generally don’t drink PG.

    GV,
Although it would be a great trip, I won’t be able to make it out on 3/29 from Hawaii. When we do move back to the east coast, I’ll definitely make the trip to the store. I’ve been discovering a bunch of new varietals lately and haven’t yet tried Pinot Gris or Pinto Grigio that I can remember. Started out as a red fan and have recently started trying and buying the whites. Chard, Sauv Blanc, and Gewurz are the ones I’ve tried so far, but will seek out some PGs.

Will be there on the 29th. Room is already reserved so we can spend the night. Sitter for the kids is already arranged. Have recruited 3 non-Vayniacs to come along for the fun. Counting down the days…..

I am totally a sucker for milkshakes, and right down the road from my office is a cold stone creamery. I go in about 3 times a month to get their half off milkshake on Thursdays. I get the cheese cake ice cream mixed with graham crackers and real strawberries. Nothing beats it right now.

Great idea with the head to head action.

I’m ready to quit my job of seven years to make it down there for the 29th. I’ll do my best, sir. I’ve been dying to see the thunder’s homested.

QOTD#1: Sorry, I can’t be at WL on 3/29–but I will see you the next week in Seattle!
    QOTD#2: I haven’t had a lot of Pinot G, so no favorites.

I like the head-to-head format, especially seeing both wines in a glass side-by-side. A direct comparison often tells you much more than tasting them one after another.
