Tough day... sorry to hear that, Gary :( Tomorrow is another chance at victory!! QOTD: Probably WLTV. Mainly because I would really like to catch up to the current episodes as fast as possible so Im trying to watch 6-10 episodes a day.
  • Dan Manu
    QOTD: Facebook
  • JacobS
qotd: Last.fm is pretty cool, very similar to pandora, but it knows what your listening to on your ipod and can give you recommendations. If your friends are on last.fm they can recommend songs and artists to you as well. Nice web app.
  • QOTD: Instant viewing on Netflix

luv the enthusiasm GV, and I wanna get back to the East Coast soon!

So glad you did the smelling the empty glass thing - my wife thinks I'm nuts. I totally agree that the bouquet in the empty glass is heigtened because of all the extra surface area. Works great on sniffy sniffing Scotch too! :)
  • Rachel
I'm glad I/we only carry one of those four wines. I'll have to do more research on the D'arenberg. None of it moves.

I guess you could say that eBaying vintage patterns and fabric is my current internet addiction. That and watching your back episodes. I have so much catch-up to do.

Thank you for giving me another review on wine!
  • my internet obsession is pretty much developing my own stuff. just got finished with writing my own blog from scratch. there are some very interesting technologies emerging that should change the face of the Internet... including the wine world.

MiroTV is a really awesome program, I guess that would be my obsession. Its basically a TV guide for IPTV. You can select from *alot* of different shows and have them downloaded automatically to the miro client where you can watch them. Very cool program. And, its cross platform.

Pandora never really gives me stuff i'm all that interested in. I'll plug in one artist then it'll give me another that i couldn't possibly care less about hearing. I've been really jamming some SomaFM stations lately, good chill stuff.
  • QOTD: Pownce, with a dash of Twitter for flavor, has been my internet obsession of late.
  • Working all day. I'm watching these so late because I have been on the road for 3 weeks. WLTV doesn't won't play well on hotel WIFI. I'm still a big fan of WLTV so keep it up. I wish I could keep up on drinking as many wines as you. I'm giving it my best.
  • Pardus
QOTD: Been playing a whole lot of Scramble on Facebook.

    Gary et al,

If you love Pandora, you'll love The Hype Machine (www.hypem.com), www.Last.fm, and hopefully RCRDLBL.com. Also free streaming radio with huge ability to customize your own channels or choose the songs you want. Even free downloads sometimes. If you need Internet radio like I do, you need to check them out.

Also look at the Forkcast on www.pitchforkmedia.com, if you like indie rock and some weird stuff.

Interested in the results of the decanting. I listened to Pandora all the time before I left but it is not available in Europe.

QOTD: www.momondo.com travel website that is amazing
  • Shaggy D
    QOTD: gizmodo.com is mine
  • EskimoPie
    Hmmm... working now... wierd.
  • EskimoPie
Why is the video 'No Longer Available'??? I'm catching up from a week or two behind, and I can't get this video either on the site itself or iTunes.

Q - For the past year and a half, WLTV!!!! Not a big computer/internet person, other than email and work stuff WLTV is the only internet site I really pay much attention to.
  • lynelle
I don't have much time to fool around, so Gary, you are my internet obsession.
  • QOTD: Pandora is cool!! Music as genetics--smart guys over there. Internet obsession lately is HuffingtonPost. I'm Groobiecat over there, and am a bloggin *freak*. Basically a serious Obama supporter, but count myself as an analyst first and foremost. Well, dude, you axed!
  • Mike Weir(d)!!!
  • Mr.Ambassador
    E-Bay, Amazon and WLTV.

I had to give the screen a double-take at about 19:13 into the episode as the D'Arenberg bottle started moving by itself; was it the Ghost of WLTV or Mott using his newly found telekenetic powers?
  • Charlie Berg
Answer to QOTD: right now-definitely wltv. I discovered the show a couple weeks ago, it really fills a gap in my wine-life. It's the only place I have for wine feed-back and discourse and wine-imagination; Gary--your enthusiasm is definitely a huge boost to myself and my colleagues. so you got that going for you. which is nice.
  • Franklin C
Fun episode, latest obsession is Allison Cook's food blog on the Houston Chronicle... just interesting comments and links, about Houston and just food in general...
  • Jen
QOTD - old episodes of WineLibraryTV.
  • mateo21
    QOTD... mtbr.com, and WLTV.
  • Canadian Chris
Blame Canada!! The Weir Estate wines comes from Creekside Estate, a really cool bunch in the Niagara region. 06 was not a great year for Niagara, try the 05 Laura's Blend or 05 Broken Press Shiraz from Creekside. Better yet c'mon up and see these guys!!
  • Cuse Wino
QOTD- March Madness will soon be my internet obsession. right now too busy to surf, but always have time for WLTV!!!!
  • Yeah Canadian wine! You need to do one from St Catharines, which is right in the same area :)
  • Shad
Anyone else out there playing catch up?...again... A belated great, fun show Gary. Onward we charge!!!
  • Matt H.
When you said mourvedre was also known as Motaro I immediately thought: Mortal Kombat! Remember Motaro the ugly mutha with his whippy tail, hooves, and overall bad attitude? And then I could have sworn you said the nose had a heavy dose of violence instead of violets. Awesome.
  • You made me laugh out loud so many times this episode (favorite comparison: lanky 5th grader who is 6'9" and can't do a layup...I knew a lot of those types..).

QOTD: I'm obsessed with WLTV...but also facebook and blogspot. If you are into Pandora, you should check out LastFM. They have teamed up with Pandora to create PandoraFM as well. Basically, what they do is track what you listen to, whether on the Pandora radio, the LastFM radio, or even your computer player, like iTunes or Media Player, and feed it so you can share what you are listening to with your friends. So, for example, you could visit my profile on lastFM.com (clabuff) and see what I've been listening to recently.

I have a LastFM widget on facebook, too. It's pretty sweet! Check it out:
    www.last.fm and www.pandorafm.com

Don't feel bad, Gary. I learn a lot from the disappointments... probably more than from the winners. And when you are the one who is pulling the cork, it saves me the money.

As for Altesino. The better half and I visited them a few months ago on our Italy trip. They are great people. Very generous with their time and very humble. By the way, that winery is hell and gone off the main drag. I thought I must have been lost. Shame on you for trashing them! Just kidding. Keep it real. Maybe someday, you will visit San Francisco and we'll pull the cork on a bottle of their '01 Reserve Brunello. Hopefully that will redeem them in your eyes.
  • bundydb
    Just doing some catching up!

QOTD: WLTV, Totally Rad Show, Slashdot and Facebook/Myspace.
  • DJB
I really don't spend much time browsing the internet. My obsession has been for months, and continues to be WLTV. You rock Gary and Mott. Welcome back.
    DJB
  • JC
Good to have you back ... great show! QOTD Twitter and Settlers of Catan
  • QOTD: Internet obsession at the moment would be online comics (again).

Over facebook, bounce in and out of forums like you would not believe.

So much going on at the moment. Email is important, but WLTV is great for a little bit of a disconnect and refresh.
  • Harley Stan
Gary, the vino might not have been great but the show was. Good to see the wine from the Niagra Peninsula, I was there last year and went tasting, they have some darn good juice up there. Still have several bottles in the basement.
QOTD- WLTV of course but I have been surfing Ebay alot lately.
  • Scott who didn't win the Apple
Good show. Can't wait to load up the next episode to see what you have to say about the Mike Weir a day later.

Yes, pandora is awesome. I'm a little surprised you are just now finding it.

    QOTD: Jott.com and furl.net
  • candapete
Thanks for doing another Canadian wine. I totally agree - great, interesting nose, than a good academic wine - but missing a few screws.
QOTD - lots of wine sites; travel stuff
  • QOTD: Need you ask?
