I wouldn't mind to date her to say the least. Totally!

Good show. Def. something that needed to be touched on. QOTD: I usually use my sense of humor to let a woman know Im a fun guy, like maybe even before I actually ask her on the date. Then I like to do something thats not overly romantic, but sweet and memorable as a first date.
  • Logan
    Twanna's super cute!

QOTD: On a first date I like to go somewhere casual and fun for good, light food and some drinks; afterwards walk around, enjoy the nights lights and stuff, then go for coffee and desert somewhere cozy and cool. If sparks are in the air, maybe another round of drinks after, and then whatever develops... (^_-)

I gotta go with Brachetto D'Aqcai
  • Fun show!

QOTD: On a first date, I like to get a simple dinner. Relaxing environment, enjoyable wine with good conversation.

QOTD: First Date? Eat somewhere new!

Great Show! I also like the Elio Perrone Barbera D'Asti– I have it on my wine list by the glass. Like Gary I thought it would be a better value than any Chianti at the same price point. Thanks!

I really like this one as well. I agree w/ chuck. We need some beer reviews. I really liked the beer one you did before, maybe like on every couple of months or so.
  • Chuck
Nice show. Fun guest too. Would love to see you throw a couple beer themed episodes at us.

QOTD - Best first date I ever had - Took her for a hike in a local park, surprised her with a picnic dinner and a bottle of vino.
  • Dates are fun. Order the wine, if she likes it (and you do too), you're golden, if not, it wasn't meant to be.
  • Sassodoro
QOTD. Sorry, I've been off the dating market for decades. Mrs. Sassodoro and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary next week.
  • Andy & Edie
I think the best first date approach is to not go to the movies or someplace where you can't talk. We went bowling for our first date and then played pool and had a great time. Great episode Gary and great guest!
  • Dan-o
GV - good show! Shout out to the funky brown chick!
QOTD - I think that the most important thing to do (if you are really interested) is to let the person know that you are a listener, you are a companion, you are caring, and that you make them feel comfortable to be around you.
I met my wife 23 years ago and we were freinds before we dated, which made falling in love much easier!
  • You have too much time in your hands

The wines appear to be quite intersting and will add them to the list. Lord, the list is getting long.

Now married for over 24 years, could not think of a first date approach if my life depended on it.

Great show with a great guest.

QOTD: I think my safest first date move was to not have a move. I always found just being myself and going with the flow worked best. If that's a move--so be it. I think a tip for a lot of guys, and some women, is to listen to the other person. So often we are worried about trying to make conversation happen that we don't allow it to develop naturally.
  • YoungDave
QOTD: The first date has got to be somewhat casual, maybe even lunch, and I like doing something or going somewhere that is new for both of us, which gives a reason for laughter, conversation, and sharing an experience for the first time. The zoo is always a good bet here.
  • VinoVixen
playing catch-up ...loved the show and especially loved Funky Brown Chic's laugh....Thanks
  • JayZee
Nice show! You really rock when you have a guest on the show. I really enjoyed that one and seeing/hearing her reactions to the wines. Very interesting.

QOTD: Let's see, I've been married for a fairly long time so "dating" as such does not exist. But I think doing something a little unique on a first date is cool - however, there has to be quiet time involved to be able to talk to each other and listen to each other.

Great show. I really appreciated watching a strong, articulate woman discuss her wine likes and dislikes. I'd like to see more bloggers on the show
  • I think that lots of eye contact and the occasional touch on the arm work well for that first date. . . if you are interested that is.
  • pierazzo
Wo cares about wines with a guest like her? GORGEOUS!
Sorry fellas, i'm Italian, please try to understand......
  • Twanna A. Hines is what we call in the biz a 'cutie pie'.
  • Antony
I've always found a few playful insults to work remarkably well if you can weather the initial storm.
  • Justin Winery!!! I think they are the winery that comes up to Rainy Pass Lodge during the Alaska Iditarod which makes them instantly desirable for me, being an Alaskan.
  • Ben F
Dude killer Show and She was Awesome!! QOTD I love taking my dates to restaurants that they have never been I am talking the mom and pop hole in the wall places that are killer!!!
  • Courtney M
QOTD: It's been so long since I've been on a first date. From what I remember, Steve and I would usually go to the local coffeehouse for dates. It was nearby, inexpensive and one of the most interesting and relaxing places in town.
  • Aaron
QOTD: I recently took out my girlfriend to a great wine tapas restaurant and I asked her to pick out the food and I will pair it with one wine that will best pair with all of them. She loved it, I loved it. The Sommelier loved it because I got him involved by judging my wine choice. Basically, we both were involved in the decision and lets just say we had a wonderful evening.
  • Good show! QOTD: LISTEN!
  • lawschooldrunk
number 16...give a shout out to joe montana.

how do you get a bottle on a date and not drink a lot if you don't do any spitting?
  • Blake
QOTD: Nothing better than the big smile and the "you look great" comment. Great guest
  • Great guest, Twanna was really relaxed and comfortable alongside you - unlike some previous ones who seem overawed or, worse, tried too hard.

QOTD - You're asking the wrong person, my dating history was limited and unsuccessful, and, luckily, unecessary for the last 11 years.
  • jpwardaia
Great show...i liked hearing you give instructions on how to taste the wine better...how to train your palette...we need to know.
  • Leslie
I liked your wine choices and reasons, Barbera is very under appreciated, but would have liked to seen some tips on how to behave with wine to impress your date, or at minimum to show you're not a loser.
ie. how to hold the glass, to stop saying "I love wine", some different varietals to bring up so you're favorite wines aren't Chardonnay and Cabernet, etc......the only tip we got was not to get drunk on the first date....pretty lame!
qotd I think a wine bar is good place for a first date because it can last as long or as short as you want and normally the atmosphere is more fun than a restaurant.

ps. please ask the funky brown chick on what date it is ok to f*cky f*ck
  • Oregon Jim
In 1973 I took her out to play tennis, then the next date we went out and had Almaden Mountain Nectar. A bit of a rose, but probably a white zin! Who knew what was in it? She loved it and we didn't drink too much. Married thirty years now. The drink today is an Oregon Pinot Rose or a Bandol Rose to impress her all over again.

Super show, you have done well picking guests. Anyone who says guests always make the show better are not paying attention. They just make it different.
  • QOTD: I have no idea. Thank God my wife fell for it anyways.

Good show, I like that you kept the budget tight, and I almost like that you avoided bubbly. Although bubbly is great food wine, so I almost don't like you avoided bubbly. Guest was great, I may check out her website to see if I can surprise wifey sometime.

    Dave.

QOTD: When I still went on first dates – eight years ago? – I liked to go to coffee shops because they’re quiet, you can go in the afternoon and there’s no pressure to extend it if it’s not going well.

My first date with my husband led to us closing down the place after many hours. He was (is) a keeper!

Central Coast shout out – yay Justin!! They do really awesome work for cancer research, GV, you should read about their fundraising efforts – it’s a great story. http://www.sanluisobispo.com/business/v-print/s...
  • Thanks Gary

QOTD: I'm an Australian we don't really "date"...
