Hey Gary, just came across you tonight actually sad to say, but so glad I did! This show right here I have to say was epic!!! Big win for you buddy, and I applaud you for your professionalism and way to stay honest in front of the “Great One” you are a true connoisseur! Can’t wait to try no.99’s wines and to catch up on some of your latest video blogs :) Cheers

Well The Yanks DID win now didn’t they! And I tend to think the Great one WAS a bit toasted here.

What a great interview with the Great One, he doesn’t seem to know his wine as well as Gary does. What a down to Earth guy, it is great to see that he is doing that whole wine business for his foundation as well. Hockey talk is always a bonus!

Is it just my imagination or was Wayne a little toasted already? Seemed like he hit the bottle early on this one.

Anyway, will the Yankees win the World Series? God, I hope not. At this point, it’s a tough hill to climb for the Angels (game 5 tonight), but I’m pulling for my Halos.

No way Gretzky, that Halos are going to beat down the Yanks. And how about my Chicago Blackhawks, Stanley Cup Champs in 2010!

Wine for a great cause – that deserves a comment.

    QOTD:

Absolutely NOT! Phillies for #2 baby!

I couldn’t believe it, a hockey play from Gary V and a wine play from the Great One! Outta control! If there’s a signed bottle involved, I’ll totally take some of that cab, right now. Sign me up!

Great show, loved his reactions to your tasting notes. When you were talking about BMX bike burned rubber, he was like “sure, its good”. Awesome! Keep up the great work.

    Hi Gary,

I absolutely love this wine video of yours but you really need to get the sound to where you can actually hear your guests clearly. We can always hear you but your guests are not always clear without turning up the volume and then turning down the volume when you come on. Perhaps a microphone with more power would do the trick. Thanks, keep up the interesting shows.

I was in Toronto last week and I tasted the #99 merlot and chardonay. Not bad, not bad at all. especially in canada where “ok” wines start at 18-20$. its a good play. On a side note I also tasted a white blend from creek side winery (waynes partner…) and I really liked it. 40 sauvignon blanc, 40% riesling and 20% pinot gris (or something liek that). Don’t know what the retail is but it would be worth checking out.

Wow! This is my favorite guest so far. Who knew that The Great One was a wino?! This is awesome! I am originally from Buffalo, and as a 6 1/2 year old I saw him overcome a hat trick by Gilbert Perreault and break Esposito’s record for most goals in one season. It was a great night of hockey nearing the decline and rise of two of the great players.

I forgot what the QOTD was. Oh…Yankees…let’s go with no.

Never heard of this guy … but he came across as a complete tool. Looked pissed too. And why don’t you use a tripod?

WOW. Never heard of Wayne Gretzky? Are you old enough to drink Sarah?

Here in Ontario we can pick up some of Gretzky’s wines at our local LCBO. It is actually a big “best” seller there.

I tried the Meritage and enjoyed it. It was a very nice blend on Ontario red grapes.

I did not see the ratings on the GRETZKY’s wines on your ratings page…can you update the page?

Glad to see the 99 wines were of good quality, normally we wouldn’t buy a wine with a name on it assuming it’s not that good. We will definetly have to pick up the cab and reisling.

Now I hate you Gary V! It is so huge that you are sitting there drinking wine with the Great One. Congrats buddy. And Wayne, congrats on the great wine! Every time I skate I see you in my head. It must feel awesome to know you’ll never be less that Great!
Plus, I loved it on that old training video you did where you said “Hey coach, where’s the steak?” when the coach is talking about the game day meal.
Now you can say “Hey coach, where’s the Riesling?”.
Good luck with your boys down there in Phoenix, you couldn’t have picked a tougher market.
