My Sunshine is my son, Kalen at 18 months. Fatherhood only gets better but I’ll give you an update at the “terrible twos”. The only Italian varietal aside from Oregon Pinot Gris I’ve had and can recommend was the Luna Sangiovese from Napa. I don’t recall the vintage but it was a few yrs ago. Fruit bomb for sure but not too complex. Re Veneto: The 06 vintage is rockin! I’ve had some fab Valpol Ripasso wines, Tommasi being memorable (maybe too oaky for you?). I’ve put away the Zenato for a special occasion (wine advocate 93 pts.) but I’m afraid even the 06 vintage can’t bring that high a score for the valpol superior, I hope I’ll be fortunate enough to have some Amarone and Recioto from this vintage.

    Hi Gary,

Just got word that the DV Dolcetto won a gold in the California State Fair with a score of 94 as well as an award in the LA International Wine Competition. The bottle you received must have spoiled going through the travels from California to New Jersey. Bummer! We think you and your fans would have enjoyed our Dolcetto.

    Best,

    Ken Musso

Tears to my eyes. Reminds me of my “time in the saddle”, trying to juggle work and being a father. Great episode, thanks for sharing little Misha with us. Will look up Rosa d’Oro next time I’m visiting Pops (81) up in Kelseyville. Maybe I’ll make it a father-daughter outing and we’ll take the back roads through Calistoga…
QOTD: My wife Cherie and Daughter Kelley.

The picture of your young daughter touches me, because it remindes me on the times, when I was a father of a son, who is now 19 years old. It brings all the mistakes that I made to my mind. And on all the right things I’ve done (not too much ..).

I wish You the best, Gary V.

    You will need it.

    Your show is great.

    I love it.

    Alles Gute aus Ă–sterreich,

    Wolfgang

Bigtime salud to you Mr. GV. Let the ride begin.

QOTD: My wife, two boys (6 and 4) and angle girl (almost 2). Baby days gone for us, but we loved every moment (even the twitchy, schizo nights w/o sleep).

Thousands of stunning moments heading your way. Prepare to be blown away.

P.S. We always had good luck with the “burrito” wrap for sleep time w/ infants. It’s almost like an “off” switch.

I am a little late on this but I wanted to congratulate you on the new addition to your family. I know the birth of my kids are two of the most intense amazing moments in my life. I know what a family man you are Gary and your life will never be the same, for the better, now. From now on you will always be her dad. Cheers

    Hey Gary!

Don’t pass over the incredible Nebbiolo from Barboursville in Virginia! Really fine winemaking going on there…

Sure you weren’t getting a little “dirty diaper” on the sniffy-sniff?!

    Enjoying your passion,
    Steve

Watching this episode was like staring in a mirror, as I myself have a seven week old daughter a few feet away. At first I thought Misha was my girl making noise and had to double check.

QOTD: Sunshine is this ten toed, keeping us up all night and sleeping like a rock all day bundle of baby girl.
