  • Absolutely lovely show, thanks.

QOTD: An interesting question for an Australian. Assuming we are not trying to distinguish between Syrah and Shiraz, I do love Syrah. Australian has a reputation for big Barossa Shiraz (I often like Barossa (Matro, Grenache and GSM blends more) and in my opinion there’s better Shiraz to be had from other parts of Australia – cooler climate wines the Yarra Valley, Heathcote, Hunter Valley and Grampians all offer a different and unique look at Australian Shiraz.

    Cheers

Nice job rating the Syrah. Disappointed you didn’t rate the cabs. of a legend. Maybe one of your best interviews of a Legend, definitely in the top-5.

QOTD: One of the first wines that i thought was complete (123456 style) but inexpensive was the Gemtree Tadpole McLaren Vale shiraz, it is good to use a reference for different countries terroir if it is a varietal and not a mystery blend! Jaboulet Hermitage obviously very different Syrah but excellent!
