line of the day – ‘I used to do ‘other things’ to bring out my personality on stage.

The lighting was horrible in this episode and that ruined it for me – either my eyes are going or everything looked dark. Also, it’s always tricky when the guest knows so little about wine, no matter how much of a good bloke they might be.

    nice show…

QOTD – how about some cava…

  • Hey Guys

I really enjoyed this show. Not sure if I’ve been living in a bubble or just living in Hong Kong, but I haven’t heard of Train. What I did really like though was Jimmy’s honesty. If he didn’t know something he said – really down to earth for a ‘rock star’.

QOTD: The best wine to drink before a rock concert – Sparkling wine of course. If there’s none around I’d settle for a decent Rose!

    Cheers

Nice Episode ! I love Train.
Wine before the live would be sauvignon blanc by SHAW and SMITH”

  • With the current state of free information on the internet, there is really no excuse for this underexposed, WB jittering footage.

Mott, What happened to the Giants, how do you let the game slip through your hands like that?

  • I think I would be rocking out with a high acid Sauvignon blanc or a brute sparkler.

  • QOTD- A dry Sauvignon blanc or a brute sparkler.
Nice work again great show and awesome guest.

    Train is awesome!

I would go with my own bottle of sparkling wine straight out of the bottle.

    Interesting episode.

QOTD – Probably a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand

  • Guest

Gotta love Elvin’s plaid checkered jacket!

  • Cool guy, for sure.

QOTD: A vibrant and spunky white…perhaps a GruV?

I know nothing about Train.. but good to get another episode up.

    QOTD – Champagne

    QOTD: Zinfandel

  • thaklanksta

    Rock on! great show.
QOTD: Probably a bold red wine because thats my go to for most events. I’ve been catching flak since week 6 or so because wine has replaced beer for me at football tailgating. When the wine is good it doesnt bother me, so generally go with a personal favorite.

  • WOW – Awesome show. I really related to Jimmy in both my wine loving and my music (especially as I am also a guitarist)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

QOTD: I would definitely bring a New Zealand sauvignon blanc to a tailgate before a concert.

  • NJ Big Chris

Awesome ringtone… Mine is currently “I am real American.” The greatest WWF theme song ever.

I don’t drink red wine much on its own. I typically take my red with food. My favorite summer time quaffing wines are rieslings. Nothing beats a cool riesling from alsace on hot summer night.

Love the show Gary I really like when you get band members on the show it fun to learn more about these bands. And there stroys of how they came together love it.

QOTD: I’ll go for Cab’s any time. Good job Jimmy and I hope you and Train continue to have many more great years.

Good to be introduced to Jimmy and the band. I’m not a big radio listened and hadn’t heard much previously about them.

Before a big show, I would say I agree with Jim. It would not be the place for nuance and detail, but for sensual pleasure, texture and structure. Big Cabernets and Syrahs preferably. Some of the big-name fruit-forward proprietary blends, such as Jayson / Pahlmeyer, Cardinale, Insignia, etc. These are crowd-pleasers and even those inclined for more traditional styles can still appreciate the availability of highly acclaimed contenders. The other thing that immediately comes to mind is sparkling. I stay local in most my sparkling choices. Iron Horse, Roderer, and Schramsburg first. Then Domaine Carneros, Gloria Ferrer and the rest. The Oregon sparkling I’ve had is great too.

Cool show – Jimmy seems like an interesting guy. Train is a pretty good group – I like a lot of their stuff. Leeuwin Estates and K Vintners are both excellent producers. Nice choices.

QOTD: I would probably go with a big red wine, like a good Cali Cab or Syrah.

Jimmy is such a nice, nice guy. As a follower of Train, I have never heard him talk that much! Usually Pat handles most of the interviews. Anyway, as a fellow wine lover, too, I really appreciate his honesty; that he’s still a novice and the Train Wine Club is just a fun “extra” to offer their fans!
