  • Gary, you’re busting my chops here, buddy! I gotta wait 9 months for the heat episode??? You’re killin’ me man! No freakin’ way!

    Ahhhh…I’m dying here.

OK. That’s OK, Gary. If that’s the way you want to play the game, that’s just fine. But you’ll pay to play, if you get my drift. This will have consequences.

Cool stuff GV. Wish I could have been at the Super Tasting. Definitely next year though!!!! I have about 140-150 wines on hand right now, with about 100 or so of them being red and the rest a mix of whites, champagnes, dessert wines, etc.

I actually have a question for you today. Do you have any recommendations on NY Finger Lake wines? I am heading upstate fishing this weekend and would like to hit a winery so if any particular one stands out, please let me know. A few months ago, we hit the North Fork wineries on Long Island and found a few standouts but I am not too familar with the Finger Lakes region. The only winery I have tried was Goose Watch and they were just ok. Let me know. Thanks!

  • wow Chris…is it all in one place? Cellar, Units? Very curious on where people store all their wine, and, everyone should post pictures if they have cellars.

  • QOD: I have over 200 bottles. 100 in a wine fridge (50 CA, 40 France, 10 Italy), and about another 120 scattered around the house: 50 in the living room in a wine rack (mostly CA), 50 in a back bedroom (mostly Sierra Foothills – an area that I’m very big on), twenty or so on a small rack in the kitchen, and a few in other cabinets around the house. I’ll post photos tomorrow.

Another quality episode, makes me enjoy coming home, kissing the kids, every once in a while the wife, and sit down in front of the computer.

I have just over 60 bottles, about 10 everyday wines ($8-15 value wines) which are replaced when consumed, and about 50 I am “collecting”- saved for special nights- special meals, special friends, etc. Not collectables, a few over $50, but mostly $25-50 stuff. Want to get a Wine Cave or something, but for now, would prefer to invest that money in wine and continue to develop my young, green palate. Almost completely reds, I have a Viogner and a California Cab in the rack, a bottle of No Sav Blanc in the fridge as well as two sparklings.

I am turning my home office into my “wine” room. 42 bottle cabinet, two Arvids, my wine books, etc. Most importantly, where the computer is for WLTV.

Hope to make the wine tasting one day, looked like a lot of fun.

    Gary,
You seemed so pumped today..The whole arm waving before the clips of the super tasting was laughs… Anyway QOD- I think I have about 100 or so right now. I have been trying to drink through what I have before I get some more but, that never happens. I am always suckered in to buying more. If shipping wasn’t so expensive I’d be ordering that case you put together for me Gary.

Anyway Im off to St. Helena. Do a little drive on the silverado trail and pickup some goodies. Have a good weekend all, Im starting mine early!

  • Oops! I meant:

Whatâ??s the difference between â??structureâ? and â??complexityâ?? You mentioned both for rgw El Nido, saying it was not as structured as the Clio, but had a ton of complexity. And then you said it was a bit one dimensional. What’s the difference between “structure”, “complexity” and “dimension”?

Brandon…..I started watching Rocky at the young age of 6. I used to have the tape of Rocky 4 and bring it with me everywhere I went….When I was a kid, I used to put socks on my hands and an orange wedge in my mouth and pretend to fight Drago…..I am the ultimate Rocky fan. Here I am 19 years later, and I am still the biggest Rocky fan on earth. Rocky is to me what the Jets are to Gary. By the way, Thanks Gary for giving me so many shout outs on the show. I have been around since Day 1 and will continue to do so. Can’t wait to visit the store again. Oh yea, I will DEFINETELY be at the Wine Library tasting in NY and the annual one EVERYEAR from now on

  • BTW, for those 2 of you who might interested, here’s a list of the wines I own:

    http://corkd.com/people/wineluvr/cellar

It says 123 wines, but I have several bottles of many of them. This might be a tad out of date, since I may have a few bottles that I haven’t entered.
