Question – has anybody that you know of, Gary, gotten together to taste wine based on contact made through WLTV? Any regulars can probably answer that question, too.

Alright, finally after watching a hundred episodes I shall go for the lurker prize!

And heres my question GV – If you could ONLY drink wine produced from one vineyard in the world which one would you pick? Would you choose the vineyard which makes just your one favourite wine, or one that produces a good assortment of different kinds?

Favorite Game show is Bowling for Dollars. The ultimate in low budget entertainment. I mean it’s like a step below the Gong Show. (At least they had a ‘B’ list panel). The weekly Grand Prize wouldnâ??t cover airfare back home, and if you came in 2nd you got like $37. Riveting TV.

Another great episode! No one sent me–I just voluntarily come every day. Gary, could you add a comment at the end of your positive reviews on how long a wine should last in the cellar? A good Barossa should last 10 years easy but what about the $14 Thorne-Clarke? Is that a highly-rated wine for current consumption? Keep up the good work.

I too want to revisit your scoring system. Realizing that the score is merely a reference point, your tasting notes and comments being more important, the question that comes up is “reference to what?” You use a scale similar to the WA and WS, but the difference is that they define what the range of scores represent. When the WS scores the wine 85-89, defined as a very good wine with special qualities and its tasting notes fall within that parameter, the reference is to the point. Your 85-89 point range is for wines that you typically give a PAZZZZ. Or you describe a wine in so-so terms and not recommend it yet score it a 91, which for both WS and WA is a score given to wines they feel are “outstanding.” And it seems that price is still a factor in how you score, in spite of indicating in a prior episode that, at several viewers’ request, you wouldn’t. As we have previously discussed, I think that you should discard your scoring as it currently exists in favor of some other method. IMNSHO.

I do have question regarding a tasting note for the first wine on this episode. What is a “Viscous” nose and how do you measure “Viscosity” with your nose?
