I was shocked that Barry Sanders retired. He would have easily broken the all time rushing record. Which is shocking that he would have done it on a horrible Lions team.

Darn, I did not win but hey I can still answer the question.

I was crushed, crushed and did I say crushed when Johnny U retired. 🙁

Go Colts! They will spank Brady again like a newborn.

  • Steve B

Where’s Curtis Martin? Is he going to be the next guest? He’s not too busy right now.

He gets my HOF vote – if I had one.

Gary V, you’ve still never reconciled your statements about vintages. In an earlier episode, you said they weren’t nearly as important and now you’re saying they’re incredibly important (again)… Eh?

  • Dominus

P.S. Can I send another movie intro and I promise this time not to wear my Manning jersey! 🙂

Off the top of my head, when Jeff Bagwell retired. Can’t imagine the Houston Astros without him. Man, it’s going to be rough when both he and Biggio aren’t playing.

  • Congrats Stallion, TampaSteve & MichaelP. Very generous Gary! I thought I had won the wine rack with my question. Maybe next time.

QOTD: I’m not a Yankee fan, but when Donny “Baseball” Mattingly retired it didn’t bother me so much at the time, but more so after the Yankees started winning all their World Series. I think he’s one player that really deserved one. Maybe he’ll get his ring as a coach.

QOD: I was probably most saddened when (there are two….in order)

    1) Paul O’neill retiring from the Yanks….watching his final game still brings tears to my eyes
    2) Mike Richter retiring from the Rangers

I cried when Tiki Barber retired, err, umm, ….
Actually, when Brett Farve, uh, hold on.
Rocky Balboa, yeah, when the last Rocky movie, or next to last, or …
How ’bout Morten Anderson. Definitely. The Great Dane. That guy could, um, I mean can still-
Maybe, thinking back, when Herschel Walker retired, I mean, “left” Georgia for the USFL- wait, he wanted to return, but talked with an agent, so…
    Nevermind.
