    I’m afraid it was a long time ago for me, probably over ten years, but it was a 1971 – classic, powerful, great vintage. Can’t find the tasting notes but they’re around here somewhere.

    I can’t believe you chugged d’yquem out of the bottle. Wawawiwa! You are my new hero. You should have finished it in one gulp and then broken the bottle and chanted “Ole! Ole! Ole!Ole!” afterwards.
    QOD: alive: my fiancee. dead: my grandma. she was an awesome lady and into wine, but passed away before i was able to drink.
    Anyone else going to see Borat tonight?

    In fact, my father-in-law (soon to be “ex”….) has served some monumental wines to me over the years (Cheval Blanc 89, Lafite 85 and 88, Mouton 86, Latour 61, Petrus 70), and the first sauternes i ever had-59 D’Yquem-it’s been downhill ever since-i mean that’s like starting atop Everest!!
    It was phenomenal. So, i would have to invite him if i only had one seat to fill…as far as deceased??…….not anyone i personally know…..maybe John Lennon or JFK??
