Is the Iron Man reference on the whiteboard referring to the newly released Invincible Iron Man DVD? I agree wholeheartedly with your statement that a wonderful way to learn more and taste more is to organize a tasting group amongst friends. Thanks for the great video profiling some NZ pinot’s.

  • Way early today! Too many people around the office for me to watch now. It’ll have to wait until I get home.

The only Pinot Noir I’ve ever had was Parker Station. Don’t hate me, pity me. Actually, it wasn’t that bad, but I don’t know how it compares to any other Pinot’s.

QOTD: Never had a New Zealand wine of any sort.

This might be a good theme for my first wine tasting with a group of friends: South Hemisphere wines!

QOTD: I just had my first NZ Pinot while on a business trip Tuesday. I tried the 2005 Nautilus Estate from Marlborough. Very bright, tart cherry, with smooth tannins and a light mouthfeel. Drinkable, if a bit too acidic, but a steal for a restaurant Pinot ($38/bottle, but 40% off as part of their Tuesday wine promotion). I am very interested in trying more.

How do you guys consistently post so early? Do you wait all day for the new episode to post? I don’t get it. I like the show but really.

Java, get on it. Parker Station WILL NOT get it done as your only pinot. I want Gary to do a starter pinot episode. The most affordable 88-90 point pinots out there. If you want to splurge but have Gary’s backing, I thought the Chasseur was awesome. He reviewed it on a way back episode.

    Enjoy

  • Dan C.

Gary- I have never had an NZ Pinot but will definitely give them a try. Pinot in general does not please my palate, but I keep trying different ones. Mostly from Cal. and Oregon, and a few from Burgundy.

Thanks for bringing something new to the plate again.

QOD.. never had a NZ Pinot, I think the next varietal I will explore will be Pinot, so I’ll be sure to try some of them.

I caught another eighties reference goin on there.. what NES games you got sitting on the desk. Don’t tell me you actually have a working system there at WL!? I mean who keeps them around nowadays.. if I need an NES fix, I just boot up MAME. You Crazy GV!
