Thanks for doing the London Episode! But tea? hahaha! When’s the coffee and chocolate episode?

    Awesome first year GV!!!!!

My check book has definitely taken a hit this year, but I love all that you’ve done to expand my palatte. I’ve learned more about wine from watching WLTV, than any other source. Keep it up, I tell everyone I can about WL.

Yay for TeaTV… do some oolongs next time: they have the most complex flavors. That was such a pure episode, it was perfect. Lets hope the coming year of WLTV is even better (hard to imagine) than this past. Thanks for changing the wine world!

Congrats on year one superlatively done !

QOTD: Prior to WLTV it was only Sauvignon Blanc; now it’s champagnes, cabernets, and willingness to try them all ! Thanks for opening the door. Naples Kathy

QOD: I love learning about wine and know I feel I get a daily lesson on wine and a new voice, less stuffy voice for reviews and information on my favorite hobby. Thanks Gary and congrats on your one year anny.

Gary, its a bit low on the list, but I just wanted to reiterate how much I appreciate you and the WLTV team have put into this over the last year. True, as you mentioned, you have received a lot in return, but it is so difficult to do something like this day in and day out; and do it well!

Great call on the tea too! LOVE tea, I think that most wine drinkers would — especially loose leaf. I went into this amazing tea shop in Oak Park, Illinois a few years ago (http://www.todd-holland.com/)that floored me in the variety of teas available . . . and I have been a huge fan ever since.

QOTD: My cellar is twice as full today as it was a year ago AND last year it was cab, merlot, a couple pinot’s and a couple of spanish wines – today it is italian, french, washington, and many other things I had never tried before.

    Thanks, again, Gary V.

    Sensei,

Congrats on the one year anniversary and thank you to Erik and the crew who produce the episodes!! And a special thanks to Chis SS for managing the spreadsheet!

QOTD – like many others have written, the biggest change for me is how much my horizons have expanded and how many different wines I have tried and enjoyed as a result of learning more about them from WLTV. I also now give about a half hour a day to watching each episdoe and trying to keep up with the forums. It has become a favorite time of the day. And….I now get these strange impulses to pick up worms off the sidewalk or wet rocks off the street and lick them, just to find out what they taste like….what’s up with that??..:)

Thanks again Master…keep up the good work!

    Your humble student…

Gary and the WLTV team- Just a great year. “You’ve come a long way baby” (I can’t remember the ad I took that from…some kind of smoke maybe) and so have all of us. Thanks Gary.

QOTD- To be able to say “a huge shot of black licorice” and then try to think what the other flavors might be. Who knew we could do this?

    Cheers!

QOTD…easy..1 year ago I was pretty much ice cold beer only. Now I’m finding myself checking the freshness date on my beers.

  • Southpaw

    GV,

What’s worse, the Jets secondary or the Brits dental plan? Happy A my friend. It’s been a great year for all of us.

I’m driving home on Rt. 78W last night to Bernardsville and I look out of my driver side window and who do I see on the eastbound billboard? I see you, you sick bastard! I’m used to seeing you on my 19″ monitor and now I see gargantuan Gary VAY-NER-CHUCK. Oh, by the way, you are quite striking at 80 mph.

    Keep it up man.

Iâ??m off to do the work of many.

I’m late today GV.. but better later than never!

Very special ep today(or yesterday). Loved the twist of Tea you’ve added to mark the occasion. WLTV is so much more than just an informative show about wine. The humor, camaraderie, inventiveness, and interactivity are just some of the positive qualities of the show. You’ve been through a whole year and there have been sooo many changes and additions to the format. Who can say what will happen in the coming years. I’m looking forward to each and every one of them 🙂

    Here’s something that hasn’t changed in a year…

I still can’t get my grAVATAR to work!

  • Joe Po

Thanks to you, Gary, and your staff!
“What will he say or do today to make us LOL?”
    What flavor(asphalt) or “nose” analogy
will burst forth?(The “Tasting” episode squeaks
by the “Storm” epi. for me)
And YOU’RE WELCOME for your kind words. Salute!!

Gary, here’s your 140th “Congratulations”! Just watched the episode today (1 day late) and what do I see but my 3 favorite men in their VAYNIAK t shirts and wine tote gear they got at Christmas holding Sharpshooter Cab! Thanks for the #1 spot!
QOTD: Although I’ve been learning about wines for 10 or more years on my own, your daily video has taken that education to a new level. My whole attitude about the wine experience has become so much more open to a wide range of tastes and preferences. You’ve made it fun, accessible and much more of an experience than a drink. The community you’ve created for us allows us to interact and even much more, have questions answered at the click of a button. Your responses to me thru email were always timely and helpful. Can’t imagine where you find more than 24 hours in a day to do it all.
Kudos to all your staff who have never been anything other than polite, helpful and very quick responders!
I’m looking forward to follow your successes in the future, thanks for the ride…Karyn Spengler

Thanks to all you do for the Wine Group. Congrats on the year!!!
Hope to see you on FOX,NBC,CBS,ABC,et all someday doing a segment on wine.
At the beginning of the year I had about 4 bottles of wine
in the “rack”, now almost 50, and 90% from WL!!!
I believe in the “GV” rating too!!

  • zerokreap(kw)

Well, I had to make an appearance on the 1 yr anniversary….well, good job! It has been a pleasure to see this unfold from the beginning.

Qotd: well, in my wine world I must say that through the how and the site I have expanded my knowledge immensely because of exposure to wines that I would not have otherwise come into contact with. My palate is a lot stronger as well thanks to a couple of experiments and your notes about wines that I would reference while drinking suggested selections. My cellar is nicely stocked as well…

    thanks gary

    QOTD:
Last year I loved wine. Now I know WHY I love wine.
Last year a tasting note was mumbo jumbo. Now I know what worm heads, girls’ locker room, and black fruit smell & taste like.
Last year I thought I was being cheap or just missing out because I couldn’t spend a fortune on wine. Now I know that great wine is NOT price dependant.
Last year I was a Bears fan. This year I’m STILL A BEARS FAN!!!
A day without Gary VAY-NER-CHUCK is a day without sunshine!!
Congratulations on your aniversary! The distributers may not appreciate you, but we do!!!!!

Happy Anniversary buddy boy. The show continues to gain momentum. How did you evolve from this almost introverted persona to a Vayniac? Wow!

QOTD: Average price per bottle beginning of 2006, $14. Average price per bottle beginning 2007, $25. Enjoyment…priceless.

    Ciao

Gary and the Gang at Wine Library!

Congrats, on the first year anniversay of wine library t.v. I think it is great the way your are changing the way people learn and talk about wine. I want to thank you personally because I know that I have learned alot about wine and discovered new wines due to your webcast. Two of my personal favorite steals that you introduced me to were Pillar Box Red and Las Rocas Garnacha. Both of these wines were great juice for the price… Everyone loves a good deal. I have a question of the day for you all, how much of a difference does the shape and type of glass you are drinking from make in the taste of your vino??? Big Deal or Balderdash? One other note I want to mention is that I am in California and I ordered a few bottles from you, which arrived quickly, safely and were quite yummy! And with free shipping as well… That is high quality service. So keep up the great work guys! Continued Success to you and the show is the next and many years to come.

    The Cali kid,

    Daniel
