Huge # of comments, maybe the most up to this point. Don't have that many Bordeaux in Cellar (over priced), much more Cali Cabs. Nice to own a wine store… QOTD-tonight (Cab) 3 yrs ago?? http://www.winelx.com

    Gary,
Nice, fun episode. I appreciate the education on French wine. My QOTD for you, and I’m serious: if you wanted to buy a case of a Bordeaux wine right now, as an investment, and not to drink, what would it be??? You know I will do it!
Answer to your QOTD: Ugo Lequio Barbaresco Gallina 1998, to go with the Pecorino Grand Cru cheese that you recommended. Molta Bene!
Here’s another question for you: Which do you prefer: Italian or French ?

    JW

PS We need more cheese recommendations!!!!!

Come on lurkers, help G get to 350. I don’t think he got that many points in the NCAA bracket, so help a brother up when he’s down.

  • Kahuna, I think I threw up a little in my mouth on that watersports night comment. Thanks.

As for me, I had a long @ss day at work, it’s 80 degrees here in Jersey, and I cracked a Budweiser as soon as I walked in the door. I wasn’t really in the mood for the Bonny Doon chenin blanc in the fridge.

    Oh Gary you’re such a tease…6-8 weeks! Abated breath…
QOTD: I usually play chance and spin eyes closed 3x in front of my wine fridge then grab at random. I just ran down to do this….and the result a Chateau de Valcombe Prestige. I have not had it yet. Maybe later in the “introduce yourself” forum I’ll give TN.

QOTD: 2003 Olssens Jackson Barry Pinot Noir. A real strong effort — dark for a PN, great mouthfeel without being too heavy, lovely cherry and raspberry.

The Jets are gonna kick da ‘Boys butts inside out in honor of Tom Landry this Thanksgiving!!!!! Take that Jerry Jones’-) Chad should spike the ball right smack in the middle of the 50 yardline star just for good measure too! Maybe TO will go after him and be banished from the league forever.
Let’s hear it for the Rutgers women’s b-ballers….Final 4 and (hopefully) 2 more (wins to the championship)!!! Let’s go RU!!!!

Kahuna – I have to give you some recognition on that comment. Rarely do I literally “LOL” but that had me laughing….
For me tonight – probably opening a Columbia Crest Grand Estates Syrah, even though watching this episode makes me want some Bordeaux tonight!

Great episode-I know you’re like “what ever” but once again you rinsed out your glass with a $183 bottle of wine-what was that about $15 worth of rinse? So cool…
QOTD I finally grabbed a chilled white-hey its in the 80’s here in Ohio! and the first thing I grabbed was a 2005 Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling-was ok..a bit one dimensional but what do you expect from a bottle I bought at Kroger! It cooled me off at least.

Glad to see you back on the job. In one of my senior moments, I opened the WOTM #4 wine a week early, so tonight I will be finishing off a bottle of ’99 La Palazzola Merlot from Umbria. Wine Liability gets credit for introducing the great wine to me through the 2000 vintage, at half what my local source was selling it for. Then I found the ’99 being closed-out at a good price and bought several of them.
