Are you still reading comments, GaryVee? I discovered these videos and decided to watch from EP 1! Thanks for the education.
New to wines, so I haven’t yet tried a Barolo.
Read today that cork’d has croaked. LOL! Too bad, but created an account with cellar tracker.

    Gary,

Thanks for the hard work in doing 12 episodes in one day! Crazy, but I love it. Hope the San Fran party rocks and your trip to Greece is unforgettable.

I have not gotten off the dime yet and invested in Barolo’s, but I think it’s time I do so.

    Cheers!

I’ve not tried any Barolo’s before but I look forward to exploring them one day. They don’t really fall into my normal price range so that’s a limiting factor for me.
    Stay chipper Gary.

  • I am very intrigue by Barolo. I love Italian wine and the colour is fascinating.

QOTD: Penne with Spicy Sausage paired with a dry, peppery Valpolicella.

Gary, what’s the difference between Barolo and other Italian heavyweights like Barbaresco, Brunello, etc.? What American wines are they most similar to, and how are they different?

  • Tom (vtjones)

I might have to drop the money on one of those.

QOTD: I love Linguine with White Clam sauce and I tend to go with a red wine but after your recent shows on whites my wife and I plan to expand our horizons this summer. 🙂

Gary, what’s the difference between Barolo and other Italian heavyweights like Barbaresco, Brunello, etc.? Too many Italian wines that start with ‘B’…its all so confusing!

    Cheers

  • Barolo rocks. Italian food rocks. I recently had the 2001 Azelia Barolo with some baked ziti. Too many awesome Italian foods to pick just one.

  • jemlemnj

The Piedmont wines sound fascinating, but are beyond my budget. Anything in the $20-25 range? Homemade manicotti with a Zinfandel would be my favorite.

  • Another great ep. Those wines are a tad out of my price range for a just to try purchase but I’ll keep them in mind for something to store for a special day 🙂 I’m excited to see where cork’d is goin man! It’s my first time ever using anything like that and it’s been a blast.

QOTD: Fettucini Alfredo with a nice Cote du Rhone

Been eyeing up Barolo’s, Barbaresco’s, Barbera’s and the like, but find selecting a few wines quite difficult actually. Most of them are not cheap, and at 20-50 EUR experimenting is a bit costly. So nice to have a show on Barolo, although the only one I can find over here is the Azelia and based on how you described it I’ll have to pass (spearmint – yuck). The Massolino on the other hand sounded wonderful.

QOTD: Escalope Milanese (Italian version of veal schnitzel), with a bottle of Chianti Classico. Not just my favourite Italian meal, but one of my favourite meal + wine combo’s all round.
