qotd: i like the current format where you pan some and like others.
you can always throw in wines or whole episodes where u stack the deck with wines you’ve had, like and expect will show well.

QOTD – I like the format of the show now. I don’t think you change it.

wtvLurker I think hit it on the nose. I agree with him.

Sometimes my palate doesn’t agree with the ratings

QOTD: I enjoy your candid reactions so I would not want you to do only shows where you tell us about wines you tasted but one episode every two weeks or so or maybe once a week have one episode with 2 wines you recommend would be cool. Keep up the great work my wife and I really dig the show. We also owe you a picture of a wrist band and it is coming I swear. 🙂

I think you have to do both. If you’ve tasted a wine that you love and want to show the world it, you should. That’s what the forums do no?

However, it’s also great seeing wines you’ve never had. We get a good in depth analysis on the fly. Ever better if you do them blind…

    Just my 2cents

Interesting… seems the 90 pts. were being thrown around a little loosely QOTD Gary I love the show the way it is. I fear that if you have tried the wines before the show we would lose your first reaction and in my opinion that has created some the funniest moments on wltv.. Please don’t change anything. If people want to see or hear about what you’ve been drinking they need to check it out on cork’d.

qotd: gotta keep it interesting for you, or else why do it? so, i say stick with majority wines you want to taste but taste one you know is good every day or two. my humble opinion…

Agree with you that wine can be too sugar-fied.
QOTD….I like the current format a lot, but if you have a wine that’s “bringing the Thunder”, then you should bring it on the show. I’d say just re-taste it after doing the usual show/format.

Enjoyed the episode, as usual, but I am a little confused. When you say a wine is ‘a little to sugarfied’ are you referring to actual residual sugar in the wine ? Is it off-dry or even slightly sweet ? Or is it just too ripe or too fruity, but still fermented dry ?

QOTD: Guess I am a fence sitter. I like the format the way it is, but would have no objections to hearing about wines you have recently enjoyed (or hated).

  • DK44

Good episode. I agree with most of the previous posters. You spontaneous reactions are a key part of the show.

Let’s change the wine world, not the show format!

QOTD – Sort of on the fence, on this one. And it’s a picket fence, hooowhoooo —
Would prefer a slight change in format, perhaps adding 1 wine that you have liked and can recommend, to the mix of 2 to 4 wines that you have yet to try.

I like the current set up. If everything was a pre-appoved recommendation, we wouldn’t see the the pazzzes, which are an essential part of changing the wine world, aren’t they?

It comes down to this: in a more premeditated system, will we still get descriptions of wines that you may not appreciate? I’m thinking of the Atteca from this show for instance.

And thanks again for the TNs. My list is getting longer!

  • I like the current format, but it would be nice to hear about a wine you fell in love with recently, especially if it’s a good value. I think you’ve done that before, so maybe you can just mix it up now and then with some wines you’ve already tried.

Late today, but hey, you’re in Italy so does it really matter. I love it when parents call you in the middle of something, classic “real life moment”.

Nice wines, more impressed that you still don’t look wasted – waiting for the next few days to see when you finally crack!

QOTD – No change, I love the thought that you’re getting to these wines new and that your reactions are real, good or bad, not open to “influence” from previous experience or tasting notes.

    BLIND TASTING EPISODE(s)!!!!!

QOTD – I like the current format, some you have tried and some you haven’t, depending on the day. I feel if it was all one and none of the other it wouldn’t work. I think one “blind” day a week would be a really cool twist to what you already do.

    QOTD:

Current format is good. Need to find out about the good wines as well as the bad wines. Also might get a little political if you start only tasting wines you line/enjoy have had recently.

    my two cents!

  • QOTD: Dude, does it have to be one or the other? Why not do both? Current approach totally works, but people wanna know what the Vary Gaynerchuk unit has quaffed. Yeah, do ’em both; mix it up. Hope you’re diggin’ the land of the Piazza; it’s raining and nasty here in VT, and as a soon to be married guy, I’m bummin’ about the two bottles of Sarah’s blend I have sitting in the cellar! Meh. Because Yo! is a little bit of Oy! spelled backwards. . . !
