Besides right now the 80,s when the Giants and LT were hot and the Mets were Good and The Yankees were in the tank, kind of like today!!!
I like the sangiovase grape, guess i will avoid the 2003’s.

QOTD: Any age where I could crap myself and have someone else clean it up, have someone feed me, bathe me, and could sleep all day…those where the golden years. Plus my mom was drinking all the time so I got onto the vino via the milkage.

Way to go Nice job and in only six months, quite the achievement, you go boy!

QOTD: Yet to come: hopefully 2013, my youngest will be graduating college, I can sell the too big house, retire at 56 relatively comfortable (fingers cross on my firms IPO next month) and maybe traveling a bit and enjoying life rather than slaving for the fam. Of course, I’ll probably follow my pop’s footsteps and kick the bucket shortly after retiring, but maybe I can squeeze a little time in there first.

  • Alright, time to cast off my “lurker” status!

First off, great episode. Helps show us “new guys” the real role a vintage can play in your experience.

QOTD: I think if you have a “best year”, then you’re looking at it the wrong way. Good or bad, it’s always the best if you can live it and share it!

    Gary,

My dimes have been lacking the past couple of weeks because I just started a new job and have kind of put you in the backseat. Also, I tried to watch the Barolo episode and it was all screwy.

QOTD: 1980 my vintage. Not a bad one yet.

  • wildebeest

QOTD: The best, and also the worst, year of my life was 2004, but I expect to have better years to come.

I liked the comparison of the two vintages…..I have many years with great events in my life….it is hard to pick one….1970

  • Hank

Nothing is like when you’re 21… nothing.

I don’t drink Ruffino but a good chianti classico at the right price point is hard to beat. Good food wines.

QOTD: All years were good. Ok, well, maybe subtract ages 13-17…and maybe 23 and 41…and maybe last year too (47) but other than that its been pretty good…except maybe 29 and 39…ok even those were good but well, you know…

Hey Gary…so happy to hear the great cholesterol count…nothing like a nice italian chianti to clear the blood…their is a wine down in paso robles area, Rabbitt Ridge, that makes a good chianti…beautiful winery too…check it out sometime.
