Because you ran a marathon and told me too…
QOTD: I’ve been enjoying this wine A LOT…2004 Marc Colin Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne. Best white burgundy I’ve had.

I love you Gary. You have a great, great personality and keep me informed about wines. I needed some whites so I will definitely be buying some of the wines you enjoyed. Have a great day and I, too, always say “I love you” to my loved ones.

    Gary, Great episode.
QOTD: I would probably lean towards Rieslings for my favorites summertime wine.

Gary – wow, am I behind episodes. Thanks again, and thanks for the good advice. I don’t tell my family I love them enough.

QOTD: I’m really getting into white wine from Spain. It’s been perfect considering the hot and dry weather we’ve had in Indiana so far this summer.

    Spectacular episode, Gary!
QOTD: I like to start with a nice chilled NZ Sauvignon Blanc, Argentinian Torrontes or Albarino. With the meal, bring the unpopular Chardonnay.

Favorite summertime wine: bogus question for me! I like good wines year round, I don’t tend toward one varietal or another just because it’s hot outside. Screw that, turn on the air and pour me a peppery zin!

Love the outside marathon by the way. That’s a lot of work to drag your crap outside just to get shouted down by a large diesel! The extra effort keeps it interesting, thanks!

I really enjoyed the Kanu ’06 Chenin Blanc that I picked up from Cost Plus. Really happy you tried a South African Chenin Blanc, it sounds like it is shaping up to be a varietal that does really well in that region.

On a side note, why didn’t you line them up best to worst like you used to do? On a marathon event like this, we need a little reminder at the end of how everything compared with one another.

Great marathon…. I have the Villa Maria as a good little inexpensive drink quite a bit. Will be seeking out the Fort Ross!
Reislings are my fav summer time fling.

Gary, I think that you are right on with the “I love you’s” to those you care about. Listen, life is a funny thing – it’s far shorter than we think. Letting those you love know it is a wonderful wonderful thing.
Wine, family, friends, good food, great memories….. that’s what it is all about.

That was a wild one G!
My heart went out for the La Mondotte sacrifice…I love St-emilion wines…How about an episode dedicated to more affordable st-emilions?
QOTD: I have to admit that Sauv Blancs from the Marlborough region of New Zealand have been my favorite whites becauseof their high QPR.

    Cheers,

It’s summer and the whites are taking over. Drinking lots of Sauvignon Blancs. Not a huge fan of the oak monster chardonnay’s – especially the California style – so sticking with the SB’s, Soave’s, Pinot Gris and other dry varieties.

That was wonderful. I’ve never been so entertained by a marathon.
I’m trying new things…bought my first rose champagne today. The last pink beverage to touch my lips was probably over a decade ago, so this one is for you, GV.
    Cheers!
