QOTD: Chenin Blanc, here’s to the unsung hero’s.

  • pegleg

Nice job. Too many people drink white wines too chilled.

I have been all over viogniers this summer.

I think you the plant you were talking about is a cattail.
QOTD: I love Tavel rose in the summer or anything with lemon-lime flavor; be it wine, a margarita, or a mojito.

I’m going now, so let me say I love you.

All GV needs is a head band to go with outfit.

    GV,
Awesome episode. Lot’s of love in the house. I agree that family and loving them is the key! I also agree that wine is emotional and can be affected by your mood. I have to tell you that since WLTV, I’ve tried a TON of wine that I never would have tried, so thanks.
    QOTD: ARNEIS, perfect for summer.

I quote you all the time in my wine shop in Brookings, OR, so I know a few folks have tuned in to see what you’re all about. Good show–too bad about the Gavi, though.

QOTD: Mulderbosch Chenin Blanc/White Bordeaux/Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc/Abacela Viognier/Sokol Blosser Rose of Pinot Noir…

  • Lurker2

QOTD: Torrontes. Can’t get enough. I just wish i could find one that has a finish/flavor profile to match the nose.

    -Good Show. Dugg it.

I am a gang of one. Everyone I tell about WLTV thinks I’m a nut. Well they did before too. NZ sb for me this summer.

thanks a million gary. you made my day, cause it sucked until now.

  • JasonP

    Great show, crazy location.

QOTD: a somewhat sweet and barely chilled Kabinett Riesling.

  • First, for a while I thought I was in the CKC until Gary did a drive-by on my heart, stopped the car, backed it up, got out to inspect the carnage, decided he hadn’t done enough damage, pulled out his autographed mickey mantle baseball bat and turned my soul into a protein shake of some sort by saying that a grad student couldn’t be in the CKC…is there a Grad Student Crew? Hell, we’re broke too.

QOTD: in the spirit of breaking the rules, my flavourite summertime wines are big beefy Chateauneuf du Pape reds. Last summer I was in the area and got to try some of the new 2005 Saint Henri (a new winemaker) out of the barrel, thus i’m emotionally attached…I also dig Le Truffiere from Domaine Saint Benoit.

    Nice episode 🙂
But I cannot agree with the statement of 2006 vintage being dry here in Europe. 2006 was a tremendous year with dry and sunny autumn and very very warm winter with barely no snow. That being said, the 2006 wines do have very high residual sugar. Some old wise men do compare the 2006 vintage to 1947. This applies at least to Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Austria.
    QOTD: Pure varietal Harslevelue.

GV, I almost swung by WL today to pick up my orders. Could have been on WLTV ’cause I would NOT have just walked on by! Love the ep, always good when you are pumped!

QOTD: Put me on the pink list as well. Love the pink, baby!

  • HipandKneeDoc

    You must be exhausted….

suprised you didn’t stop for some Gatorade.

QOTD: the same wine I like on every other day, deeep reds, with a tendency to go for the Barolos or Barbarescos.

QOTD: Preston Dry Creek Vin Gris – 70% Cinsault, 30% Mourvedre

WPROC got it right. How about a WLTV headband to match the wristbands????
    More great schwag…

  • Neil

My dad was old school. I tried to bear hug him once, “I love you man!” Such a strange experience. I resorted to a firm handshake and left it at that. He was a kind, dear man and that old european hug thing wasn’t his gig. I’m trying to instill that lovin’, hug thing for my family and the next generation, but I didn’t hold it against him that a firm handshake was his form of father/son bonding. The firm handshake did help in business though.

QOTD: Favorite summer wine thus far was a rose. I’m not scared of the pink!

  • Amazing marathon, GV. Mad respect from Mendocino. Let’s keep changing the wine world.

QOTD: Cheap and drinkable, I love the Bonny Doon (screw caps!) Vin Gris de Cigare. About $10, great on a hot summer day, and stands up against lots of food, so great for cookouts. Otherwise, I’m a sucker for a good Pinot Grigio on a hot day. Scrumptious.
