Congrats Tim! Go Twinkies!

I have not had an agliaglioxenfree. “Il” is said like “eel” in Italian btw. Not that I expect everyone to pronounce foreign words correctly, but if I can spread some knowledge then I'm going for it.

QOTD: I had a St. Croix from Winehaven. It was pretty good. Not too acidic and not too inky. It was a little thin but I think they did a great job with a difficult grape.

Hey Erica! Take your bad attitude and shove it up your A $ $. I understand if you want to be a snob about wine, and not have fun with it, but to go on a rant such as this shows just how low-class you really are. Did you have all four of your glasses for this week before you posted your comments? I find your arguments disjointed and lacking in any foundation. Sounds to me more like a case of vino envy.

As for those of us who want to explore new wines (such as this episode about Aglianico) and have a little fun while doing so, Gary is providing a great service (and no, I don’t buy wine from him because I live in a state that doesn’t allow shipping). However, if that were possible, I definitely would.

Oh, and by the way, I have NEVER had a problem loading his videos. Sounds to me like your 6 year old computer with it’s 56K modem needs an upgrade. Try DSL or Cable. One more thing… where did you plan on ‘exposing’ Gary? Do YOU have your own web tv show or something? How come I have never heard of you? You nothing.

    Sorry Gary. Some people.

QOTD: Went on a booze cruise and watched fireworks with the city of Chicago as a backdrop! Freakin’ amazing! The wines they had were not so … how you say… good, so I drank vodka most of the night! Cheers!

Great episode – very underappreciated wines. Unfortunately the 2004 Coviv Aglianico Del Vulture was already sold out at 9 AM yesterday morning. Please reorder or send out a reminder when the 2005’s arrive.

Erica S clearly ingnored the warning label on the back of her antipsychotic meds about not taking with alcohol.
“I WILL EXPOSE YOU LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER DREAMED OF BEING EXPOSED. I will expose you in person, with live cameras, so this BETTER BE on your site.”

Yeah Erica S, I bet your spaceship has cameras along with the gamma rays and x-ray cannons. Or sharks with frickin’ laser beams.

Come, come, erica!.. you talk greasily; your lips grow foul!…..Thou art a warped bat-fowling hedge-pig! I breathe defiance to thine ears. You speak unskilfully: or, if your knowledge be more, it is much darkened in your malice. Me think’st thou art a general offence! be warned! speak no ill words of gary, or, every fan shall detest thee. Thou art as loathsome as a toad. Out of my sight! Thou yeasty swag-bellied maggot-pie!

listen not to this nonsense, fellow friends, but drink wine by the barrel and be merry!

  • Everybody, don’t pet the strays. If you pay any attention to the critics spouting poorly phrased, non-sensical stream-of-consciousness, you only give them power and a reason to continue.

If that person really doesn’t want to do business with Gary, that is entirely up to that person. The fact that the individual wants to vent his or her spleen in a public place just makes a mess for everyone.

I do find it interesting that Gary doesn’t do this show to drum up business, he does it because he loves us 🙂

Problem is that the movie for Springfield, NJ stinks. Wait, I’ve watched a few others. They all stink. Not nearly as good as the T-shirt vids. Huh.

  • WPROC

QOTD a few days removed: Can I take my rolled up 36 quarters and throw them at Erica S. for an iPhone? 🙂

Gary — of course, I drank the American Varietal (the one that doesn’t taste like Welch’s, anyway), Petite Sirah.

Anybody who drinks French Wine on 7/4 is a Communist!

  • Hadn’t heard of Aglianico; this episode, like so many before it, comes as a revelation and a great learning experience. Thanks again, Gary, and I hope your 4th was amazing!

As for the other thing (in the comments above)â?¦ Wine_ing, I like your style; I like your moves. Well played.

Maybe Erica is Staceysippinwine or 2$Vaynerchuck…either way…uncalled for. I agree with Randy and will henceforth believe Erica to have left the planet on the spaceship TDP mentioned she flew in on. Whatevah!

    Erica, here’s the number you were looking for . . . 1-800-PSYCHO1

Gary, your popularity was bound to bring them in here eventually! This just means you have really “arrived”.

Hello, Gary — why, I do believe Erica S has fallen in love with you. But she’s obviously discovered that you’re already spoken for, and Hell hath no greater fury than a woman scorned.

As for the things she said about you, I would offer to bash her over the head with a folding chair, but that really is not my style.

He, I am just drinking A Montesolæ Taurasi D.O.C.G. 2000 Aglianico which is very good. The 1999 was better though. Aglianico is definitely underrated!

Haven’t done much with wines from Italy, but I think that will be my next project. I’m off to Sweden and Denmark next week, so looking forward to some good beer. Congrats TimF; great video.

QOTD: We had a big family BBQ with ribs and chicken. Had a Zinfandel based sangria before dinner and with dinner had both a Ridge 2004 and 2005 Zin from the Ponzo Vineyard.

Based on the unusually high rating for the 2003 vintage on quaffability.com, I have been enjoying the VERY inexpensive 2004 Epicuro Aglianico Beneventano which, if I hadn’t known any better, made me think I was drinking a Côtes du Rhone. Lots of cherry and spice, a STEAL at (East Coast) TJ’s for only $5.99. Thanks Gary, for helping to put this heretofore under-appreciated grape onto the American radar.

Actually, it’s highly appropriate to drink French wine on July 4th. We would NOT have won the Revolutionary War without the help of the French. Period.
