Barnyard – Good! Throw up – Good!! Bitter tannins – Good!!! How can the Danjean Berthoux not be a 90+ ?!? Very intertaining to watch. 🙂

QOTD: I have a bottle of Joseph Drouhin Laforet Pinot Noir at home, but I have not had a Borgogne yet. I have had a great New Zealand Pinot that Gary recommended – Amisfield (Episode #164 & #271 http://winelibrary.com/reviewwine.asp?item=33151 )

    Sensei….

Hope your travels are going well.

QOTD – somewhere around 10 and have enjoyed most of them. Everyone should try a couple to further their education of the differences in Pinots from around the world.

“Stick your nose in the horses a$$?” where’d that one come from? (probably the same place as the “throw up”!).

    Hope you’re enjoying Hungary.

QOTD – 1 bought, 8 or 9 tasted, prefer the New World fruities at the moment though.

OrionSlayer – Laforet is Bourgogne PN

Arnoux is Pretty Serious Stuff – The vines are 50 years old

    Bourgogne Pinot Fin
The estateâ??s Bourgogne Rouge Pinot Fin comes from a vineyard directly opposite Vosne Romanee. The vines are 50 years old, and the wine benefits from the same careful vinification used for the grander wines. The Bourgogne is aged half in tank and half in oak casks. This is the most immediately accessible of the Arnoux wines, and a fine introduction to the brilliant winemaking of Pascal Lachaux. The term Pinot Fin is the name of the original clone of Pinot Noir and is used on the label to both indicate the age of vines and the overall exceptional high quality of the wine. By using the name Pinot Fin, Pascal Lachaux aims to communicate the excellence of his vineyards and his estate.

90 pts on the last one?

    QOTD: 700+

  • QOTD: I haven’t had any Pinot Noirs from anywhere yet, but the two New World-style Pinots may be my entry into French wine. $22 for a solid Pinot? I’m in.
