It’s the cursing I could do without. You are far to intelligent and articulate to use foul language.

Hey Gary, you upset my Sarah, she needs to hear your animated and excited intro every episode, now she has a sad face after the low grade intro…. not good. 🙁

Yeah, we know us Vayniacs don’t know s**t about wine, I mean I’ve still not reached my 60th Variety on my Century club application, I still can’t recall all the Premier Cru Vineyards in Chablis and can only remember 7 of the 13 main varieties used in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, how thick am I?

Sarah’s happy now, you came back to normal. She says that anyone who doesn’t like you or your show should switch off and leave the good bits to us.

Nice VaynerQuotesâ?¢, decent defense, fairly good offense, nice to have you back….

GV you are insane. Way to stick it to the snobs.

QOTD: Dinner with my wife would include oysters on the 1/2 shell, steak tartare to start. Then a salad of watercress, arugula, beets, stilton and hazelnuts followed by standing rib roast with horseradish crust and butter poached lobster. Finishing with shortbread cookies, bittersweet chocolate and some cheeses & fruits.
Wines would include Weil Rieslings, Brunier’s Vieux Telegraphe, Mayacamas Cabs, and Sauternes.

Awesome episode. The best in a while.

QOTD: Roasted bird and potato, Beaujolais, my special lady.

Gary your the man! But, But, I will admit that I prefer the classic Gary. At about episode #50 you caught fire. I think it was after you decided that keeping WLTV on the net was the way to go, it was like you had finally figured it all out. I think the style from those episodes feels more sincere (I’m up to like #110). Sure it’s still wacky and little over the top, but it doesn’t feel over-produced. Don’t get me wrong the content is still the bomb, but the newer shows feel a little too Hollywood. I realize that it’s probably the direction you need to go to expand WLTV which is unfortunate. Maybe it’s just me. I’ve always preferred the independent films to the Hollywood blockbusters.

I hope I don’t come across as some sort of ass, but since it seems to be topical I thought I’d share my opinion.

    Great episode!

    Sensei~

First, you do not have to defend yourself to anyone! You have always stayed true to who you are I am quite shocked to see my wise Master go off like that (even though it was hilarious!) You need to remember the teachings over our ancestors and live by this old chinese proverb………..F#@% em if they can’t take a joke! And if that does not work you can have them sniffy sniff my ass!…:)

Great episode and love the cheese pairing and think it is a great idea.

QOTD – just had that meal last fall. Paris with my sweetheart Mrs. Grasshopper at Le Bofinger, beautiful steak w/ bernaise sauce, with the most excellent frites and green beans and a bottle of 1994 Cos Estournel. Was an awesome meal with my awesome lady!

Sorry, forgot the QOTD (DUH!)….Ultimate dinner? Slow cooked Lamb Shanks in a balsamic Vinegar & Rosemary sauce served with a young(ish) Ribera del Duero Roble or Crianza. No-one but Sarah on the guest list I’m afraid.

(Oak monster ripping of faces, that’s not good. Any reason why only the Quicktime worked today?)

Also, respect to Baron Elie de Rothschild, 1917-2007. R.I.P. (Thanks amgryger)

QOTD: The answer would be, a shrimp dish, with a riesling and my girlfriend.

Plus, Gary, thanks for sticking up for us. Despite what the nye sayers might say, your approch to wine HAS brought me closer to the wine world. The stuck up snobbiness of the elite, virtually drove me away from every beginning to get into wine. I’ve turned from worrying about selecting the right wine at the store, and being too afriad to ask the dumb questions, to unafriad and just trust my own pallet. As always, keep up the good work. I enjoy every aspect of your show.

  • Vayniacs! A million apologies for today’s flash player suckiness. We’re doing our best to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

Love today’s show Gary, as always!

  • Perhaps my favorite episode of all time…and that says something, cuz I’ve been a geek here since day one…kinda. Could be cuz you rocked out sans twitter, old school…could be that Eric(k?) is back in the hizzy…or perhaps that there was no episode on Monday. Absence does make the heart grow fungus, doesn’t it? Anyways, the angst was dope- enjoyed it very much…much like my current hate towards Michael Strahan for holding out- what up depleated G-men?! Whole friggin’ platoon is droppin’ like flies…yoowwzah!

Do Not… EVER… let people like that bring you down, or get you mad enough to lose face…. You’re the Man.

Agreed — Washington wines are rocking the world. And I don’t just say that because I live here. 🙂

QOTD: I think I may have just had one of the best wine, food, and company experiences. It was last Friday night, at the Seattle Vayniacs get-together.

You knew the backlash had to be coming, GV. You took it well, my friend! Just be sure to ask for their tasting notes when they sip on the Haterade.

Great episode today… the impact of cheese is something that really interests me because we rarely taste wine on its own.

QOTD: NY style pepperoni and garlic pizza with a completely unassuming bottle of wine (like the Ruffino “Il Leo” you suggested) all enjoyed on the couch next to my wife while we watch a really bad romantic comedy that she wanted to rent. Close to midnight, when the movie has ended, we watch Sportscenter highlights while we force down some delicious tiramisu even though our stomachs have no room for it. We then stumble off to bed, glad that we took care of business before watching the movie. It really doesn’t get any better than that for me.

BTW, Thundercats lived on Third Earth but originally are from Thundera.

Great ep. GV! Gotta love how you brought the th..Th..TH….THUUUNDER to all those snoobs (snobe and newb combo)

…QOTD: Would have to be my gf and either a) the lamb entree from Fresh Cream in Monterey with a nice red, say Pinot Noir from an artisan producer in Cali or Oregon b) since you said it I haven’t stopped thinking about it – Sauterne and foie gras, seared or c) just an OTT fruit-bomb to quaff on its own. Jeesh, i think I could go on through the letter Z with food and wine pairings, but I’ll stop here.

  • Keith Adair

You go Gary. They were from Thundera. Remember Bill Cosby’s dad on the Cosby show? He was the voice of Panthro.

That’s right….time to bring the battle to the streets and take all the morons out!
QOTD – Just had my favorite dinner with my wife for our 5th anniversary. It was at the Old Prune in Stratford Ontario oldprune.on.ca
I had lamb with a 2000 Pichon Baron. Appetizers were Hamachi with a white bordeaux. It was sublime!

  • Keith Adair

Went to Silver Oaks Alexander Valley 03 release. Didn’t see any Vayniacs there in Alexander Valley. I would have taken a picture there wearing my wristband but I have not yet received it. Going in a few hours to see the Giants play and possibly see Bonds break the record.
