I happened upon a Sea Smoke botella 2005. Bought it! Wow!
No band-aid though. Lovely, lovely. Thanks. I like your enthusiasm.

    Hi Gary
Just got back from the weekend and watched the friday show . Nice
I drank some mighty fine Bloody Marys. What can I say it was that kind of weekend. Doctored them up and they were good.

    Gary,
That was a truly great episode. You really dug into the Sea Smoke, and I felt I was right there too. And your party suggestions at the end: I love the cooking together idea. I have a new house with a big kitchen, so I’m going to use it for that. Great idea! The energy was spot on, the focus, everything. Well done. Excellent show.

  • Gary, I’ve enjoyed your last three episodes. What I enjoy the is your awesome descriptions of what you smell and taste with each wine. Your last episode on the Sea Ghost Pinot Noir’s was very good. I’d love to get my hands on them. I’ll have to see what I can do.

Your shows are entertaining and knowledgable.

    Thanks for creating WLTV.

Nice episode. I think it will be one of those that I will go back to and watch over and over. I especially liked the rant at the end.

This Saturday my dad, brother, and I had a late lunch at Pappa’s Seafood Restaurant. We had a Castle Rock Pinot Noir 2006. I enjoyed the wine very much (will seek it out), but even more, I enjoyed the moment that I shared with my bro and dad. I can’t remember when we’ve had time to get together, have a nice lunch, and BS. Wine is ment to be enjoyed with friends and family.

Brilliant GV, now I really can’t wait to bust into my allocation.

QOTD: Paylmeyer Chardonnay, a lot going on in this bottle.

According to their website the Seasmoke Southing is available locally. I’ll have to get there first thing in the morning to see if any is left. Very enjoyable show, Gary. Great enthusiasm- like Parker, but without a coat and tie. So far, not much to disagree with ratings-wise. (That includes Mollydooker.) What I had this weekend was a ’99 Guigal Cote-Rotie Brune et Blonde (with blue-cheese burgers) and a 2002 Verget Vaillons Chablis (with scallops and angel-hair pasta.) Wouldn’t want to hold either one much longer. Tomorrow (today, now) is our anniversary. My wife makes a great coq-a-vin, and I will open a ’96 Laurent Gevrey-Chambertin VV. I’ve been a looker but not long enough to be a lurker. So, now I have officially left a comment.

OK, I’ll try this again. My very first post seems to have disappeared.

Sweet Ep., VaynerKing. I always like a little reference to appreciating wine in a realistic, laid-back way among good friends over boasting about a never-tasted collection in an untouchable cellar. Cheers.

QOTD: This weekend it was Capçanes Mas Donís Barrica 2004 Montsant. Great bang for the buck.

great stuff!! will (did) drink a couple of different Davis Family Vineyard wines; the Dutton Ranch Chard 04; spectacular blend of oaked/unoaked fruit; and their 04 Pinot; easily as good as the Sea Smoke (have had both); and although not easy to get—-still can through the vineyard—and Guy Davis and his family are great people!

Perfect episode – very informative (for the wine-geeks) but nice and laid back.

Gary – I don’t mean to be picky but…I really like the sentiment of “changing the wine world whether YOU like it or not”; knowing full well that the “YOU” is the stodgy, uptight, wine snobs – but since you are talking to the Vanyiacs inclusively (“WE’re changing the wine world..”)I think it would be helpful to be, “changing the wine world whether THEY like it or not.” Sorta presenting a united front AGAINST them. I dunno….maybe I am being too picky…

QOTD: Nuthin’ 2…yes TWO family reunions monopolized my weekend.

  • Awesome show. I’m not a lurker!

This weekend I drank a 32-ounce Lager on draught while enjoying Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Twas fun. (Though maybe I should have brought a bottle of wine with me).

Great show Gary. You convinced me to come out of the shadows. Can we get a ruling on whether the second wine you tasted is pronounced Sooth-ing (as you did) or South-ing, which would have been my guess?
