Wine Boy

My regret is that I live two miles away and can pull the wines off the shelf faster than the 30 minutes it takes waiting for my order to come up from the back room!

GV, nice ep. The Ferrari Carano is a summer staple of mine, cheap and easy drinking. Not life changing but I think it has good QPR.

Back in the day(1990) I used to buy 1.5’s of cab and 1.5’s of Merlot and blend them together also-

I actually think you should really do it more often- Isn’t the goal to get a better drinking product?

QOTD: Getting to Sonoma/Napa and make my own wine there as opposed to buyinf subpar grapes that have been trucked to NJ

nice blending technique! gotta say, i’ve made some “rose” in my time by putting white wine in a previously used red glass. never seen it done on purpose though…

QOTD: Ideally, I’d like to harvest for a vineyard in NZ at some point in my life. Get really close to the earth, understand wine on a different level.

Gary, you aren’t changing the wine world.. you are standing it on it’s head.. Most of all, you are influencing the price of those Thundercats. I wish I had a few to sell online now. Great show as always.

Missed opportunity â?? being No. 10 (logged in with 9 comments on board). Ah well, some ladies know I’m a 10!

QOTD: Long, long-time regret â?? not having the smarts or chutzpah to get into medical school.

Recent disappointment â?? not having the opportunity to improve GV’s French pronunciation. Me, I have no palate and can’t taste any of these flavours in the wine; result of losing too many taste buds freeing tongue frozen to hockey nets, school railings etc. I think. But it appears that Gary’s incredible nose and palate must be at the expense of a tin ear. Surely he deals with enough Francophones in his business to pick up at least a couple of nuances of the beautiful language.

Love ya’ just the same, Gar
Great props for what you’re doing!

Thanks again for the tidbits. I’ve become the (perceived) resident wine expert amongst my friends b/c of what you have taught and continue to teach us all here.

QOTD: I regret not doing something in my work for which I have passion. Sometimes a good salary just isn’t enough. Congrats to you for creating the opportunity and having the tenacity to marry the both!
