Brilliant idea Gary, it’s nice to part of something.
Despite being in London is gona make it tricky for me but I’ll follow it every step of the way.I’ll even try and get hold of a bottle or 2 but I can see that being tricky!

    Thanks again

  • From the Madonna of On-line Wine Marketing it was the logical next step – a lot of people will be on board for sure. Great way to dangle the carrot!

    Two things:

There is no Cali – unless you are from New Jersey…

    It’s pronounced Ree-us By-shus – I love Albarino too

Ok…you haven’t heard from me in a while, but I had to come out of my lurker status to say CONGRATS GARY! I heard about Crush Pad on NPR and thought – How cool. Now, with the Vayniacs, it is even cooler. I would LOVE to be a part of the process as long as my life/work/bank account allows!

PS: I love Albarino and am headed to Spain next week where I will be drinking lots of it!

    WHOLLY CRAP!!!!

I hope this doesn’t turn out like Harlan’s community wine adventure at $100K per person, that would seriously suck.

Nice to see you brought your tasting glass back to the show.

The announcement had an impact on me. I had dreams of the Vayniac Cab last night tasting & blending, tasting & blending.

  • Brian

AMAZING! You certainly made The Announcement live up to the Buildup. I will see you in Napa!

So many reasons for congradulations. You diserve all of them. Congrats!!! I heard so many good teaser ideas (all should be seriously considered), and then to learn about the possibility of contributing to a wine vintage. It’s going to be a great learning experience. Count me in!!!

    Gary, awsome idea.
I only found WLTV about 2 weeks ago, but I still felt the thrill of the build up. Me and some friends had a little party to celebrate the announcement and it did not disspoint. Keep up the good work; please dont ever let someone else take over hosting; you’re frantic energy and enthusiasm are able to keep my fragile attention span from wandering.

    E-A-G-L-E-S! EAGLES!!!

What a great opportunity to experience wine in a way not normally possible for the masses. Love it!

  • The JOB

This is a great idea! I might not make it out there to help out but I definitely want a bottle of what “we” create. Awesome. Keep up the good work and ignore those that spew negativity.

Thanks Gary! The Vayniac Cab is a great idea, just fantastic! It should be a great adventure and, especially with those great Napa grapes, should last a lifetime. Cheers!

    Gary –
OK After watching the past 30 episodes or so, I am beginning to understand what you are up to with your wine podcast. I am now coming out of gthe “lurker’s closet” and admitting that I watch and enjoy your show. I even ordered some of the wines you have recently reviewed.

Hello, my name is Eric and I am a Vaniac……

    Therapy begins soon!

    Eric from CA

PS Why not review some El Dorado County/Fairplay zins. They grow them pretty good up here! (Lava Cap, Single Leaf, Perry Creek)

    Yooo, Gary!!!
Vayniak Cabernet, How coool is dat!!!!!
I will be up dhere to help stomp some
grapes. Da clod-hoppers still in pretty
    good shape! 🙂

  • Gary, thank you very much for getting people to go “behind the bottle” and see what it’s really like to pour your heart and soul (not to mention the wee hours of the early morning!) into a new vintage of wine.

Hey, if you’re looking for a great Cali Albarino, check out Bokisch Vineyards! They are serious Spain-o-philes, completely specializing in Spannish varietals. They’re so serious, they also own property in the Rias Biaxas in Spain!

I’m waiting for the link to buy a bottle or two of your wine. I’m signing up!!!

  • Hello Gary,

I have been a lurker. Sorry, but true. I have however, enjoyed your show and enthusiasm tremendously. I collect wine, have attended wine schools, have several certificates and constantly strive to learn more, but this is an actual opportunity that I am excited about. I live in Kentucky and this will provide an insiders view I have hoped for. I am looking forward to being a part. Thanks.

Nothing to add but more props! You might need to set a limit on purchases GV, in order to insure that all us thirsty savages are quenched.
