QOTD – In addition to my wine writing, I run http://www.lifeintheusa.com which is the complete web guide to American life for immigrants. I also act as the North American sales representative for a school that teaches the French language in Europe. We give intensive courses of a week or two and it costs a fortune, but it’s worth it. Help my hubby with his construction business, (books), have three CKCs, two GKs (grandkids), one daughter who is a school teacher. 14 nieces/nephews whose lives I try to stay a part of.

We all owe a debt of gratitude (not just to you gary) but to the hoards of white zinfandel drinkers of the past century whose mediocre taste in wine (aka sweeeeet is goooood) kept the zins in the ground and not torn up to plant chard and cab and whatever the almighty dollar was leading them by the nose to. Red Zin will be back as a fave because the vines survived.

That said, I am a Math and Science Tutor and I LOVE what I do. Let’s see some quality zins on free shipping, eh?

QOTD: I’m in precon for a GC in Denver that builds a lot of projects in the Vail and Breckenridge area. Also I’m trying to renew my love affair with wine when I have time. You would think working on multi million dollar condo projects would allow me to buy any wine I wanted, but at this point it doesn’t. All I get to do is see what kind of wine storage space you need when you buy a $10 million dollar plus condo.

I used to drink a lot of Zinfandel, but have since moved on. Still pop one once in a while, but my last one was a bit of a let down (Four Vines “The Sophisticate” Sonoma County). Segehsio is my usual go to Zinfandel producer. Passed the Montelena in the store the other day. I stopped, looked, but ultimately decided for the Four Vines. Now you’ve got me wishing I picked up the Montelena.

I’m very much an on the fence Zin fan. I like the more structured subtle spicier Zins and don’t really enjoy the big jammy fruit bombs, which might be the only type of wine that I don’t have genuine love for.
