Have found South African wines very hit or miss, some have been awful. Not sure a couple years later that they have gotten any better. QOTD-Honeynut Chex http://www.winelx.com

I’m not addicted to cereal but I do love Raisin Bran, Chex and Muslix with Fruit, just love the difference between soft fruit sweetness and gritty chewy grain. Yum.

QOTD: There are cereals that I love that I can’t eat anymore like Fruity Pebbles and Capt’n Crunch w/ Crunch Berries. But I have always loved Rice Chex and Corn Flakes.

Great ep! Love the educational eps with the tinge of Vaynerspeak…I’m throwing a “Wines of the World” tasting party soon, so I’ll be sure to get some South African flavor involved…

QOTD: Not addicted per se, but I used to LOVE “Oh’s” cereal, remember that? Also Grape Nuts (but only when microwaved and hot…yum) – and Frosted Flakes bring the thunder too.

I like south african wines- but it would nice to have you showcase the newer wines such as pinot noir and syrah, pinotage seems to becoming less popular.
Qod- got to have my low fat granola with raisins.

QOTD: Whole grain irish oats. They take awhile to cook, but worth it. Also, Cap’n Crunch, but you have to let them soak in the milk a little while so they don’t rip up the inside of your mouth.

QOTD: Nature’s Path HEMP granola. What can I say? It’s addicting!

I have been trying to drink as many SA wines I could find ever since you reviewed The Wolftrap (which i really really liked). How could you keep your SA QPR reccos. from us? Come on GV, share those $40-50 bottle finds with your devoted Vayniacs!

QOTD: I dont think I have had cereal for breakfast (other than oatmeal) in over a year. Wow, that really caused me to pause and think)

About the numbers: ” In 1983 I asked the journalist Sheldon Wasserman not to publish scores for my wines… in which a comparison becomes a divisive numerical term rather than expressing shared human toil. I have not changed my mind: my tiny farm producing 20,000 bottles of wine a year interests only a small number of customer-friends… I think of my hills as an anarchical arena, with no inquisitors or opposing factions, whose inner richness is stimulated by severe, thoughtful critics; I strive for a community that can still express solidarity with whoever has not been so well-rewarded by Mother nature. Wishful thiking? Allow me to dream.”
    -Teobaldi Cappellano

also refer to the recent Eric Asimov post regarding wine and context… to me, the context is so important when it comes to wine… just like people… If you know where a person is coming from, you can understand them better, love them and embrace their flaws…

Great episode today. Who’s the profile camera man??? Any how I’ll start seeking out some S.A. wines to try. QOTD I like Golden Grahams, with a close second being Good Ole LIFE cereal. However Captain Crunch would be the ultimate if you didn’t have bloody gums after eating it. Thanks Gary and WLTV crew.
