finally tempted out of the lurk zone-just wondered if any of the wines in the store have tasting notes of the honesty of your shows for buyers to read?-being over in England i have not had the opportunity to visit your store-will have to remedy that in the future

QOTD: For videogame fans The 1UP Show is pretty good. If you count podcasts that you just listen to, I like NPR’s new “hipper” morning show, The Bryant Park Project. But the only one I watch EVERY DAY is WLTV.

Gary – WLTV – I helped the monks at http://www.chicagomonk.org set up their podcast, I suppose video/audio may be the turning point here.

This weekend I did the blind wine tasting – 15 bottles, 15 friends, turned out incredible, thanks!
Surprises:
Oriel Chafteneuf du pape – talk about barnyard! But more people loved it than hated it, so there are weirdos out there
WInner- we had the same bottle in the beginning of the evening and at the end (but didn’t know it) – beginning scored well and evening it won the night as best wine.
BTW- we had a couple 94 parkers in there, but the winner was –
Alamos Malbec 2006

Sorry been lurking lately. Great episode. Sadly enough just spent three weeks in Tuscany and didn’t taste any Chianti’s that thrilled me (didn’t drink any Riserva’s though). Found a lot of them thin and flabby. Not as balanced as an average Dolcetto, or Earthy as a Rosso di Montalcino, or luscious as a Vino Nobile de Montepulciano. So sadly enough, stuck in the middle. QOTD: love that happy slip

Thanks Gary so much for backing me up on Ruffino! I one time called it the McDonalds of Chianti and the lady in the wine store like to fell out. She pointed out how big a wine producer they were and I said the same is true for McDonalds and hamburgers. Big don’t make you better.
