QOTD: Best steak I’ve ever had is ginger and lime marinated steak. Worst steak was basically unseasoned and too fatty.

Tie: wolfgang’s steakhouse in NY. Steak for two, medium rare, amazing AND acqua al due in Florence. Bistecca fiorentina from chianina cow. awesome

QOTD: Best steak was at a restaurant called Peninsula Grill here in Charleston. Worst steak was in high school when my dad managed to mutilate the poor steak to a point of inedibleness.

If you were to drop the steak on the plate, the plate would have shattered. Could barely cut the thing. It was when we were all newly married, and this friend had no idea how to prepare steak. We laugh about it today…

So far the best steak I’ve had was at a nice little place called Carlos’. It was a Filet with this wonderful peppercorn sauce. It was a really nice cut and perfectly cooked. MMM gonna have to go have another one. lol

QOTD: Best steak was at Vic & Anthony’s in Houston. Worst was a “Bacon Wrapped Filet” I bought at the $.99 store. It actually looked decent when it was cooked, but I was still scared to take a bite. It lasted about 2 seconds in my mouth before I spit and ran for a toothbrush.

Boxed wine? Drink it all the time, when it’s just me. Hardy’s, Black Box, and Stonehaven have been acceptable labels with no surprises, and fairly consistant for everyday consumption for about $4 to $5 a bottle. With the money saved, I’m able to purchase and enjoy “the good stuff” with friends and family whenever we get together.
Would I serve it to guests? I did once, and they were pleasantly surprised.
Best Steak: Bedford Village Inn in Bedford NH. A perfect ribeye.
Worst Steak: Ponda-GROSS-a . ‘Nuff said.

QOTD: Best steak… japanese Kobe beef eaten in Japan. Worst cut… Believe Or Not… at a Morton’s. Totally unacceptable (wow… I didn’t believe either) At home and friend’s homes – usually pretty good. 😉

QOTD: A filet migon with blue cheese melted over it at a little restaurant in Lambertville, NJ called Mannon was the best; the worst had to be at Bonanza from way back in my college days.

The worst steak I’ve had: The dining hall on campus served a large white glob of fat, with a vein of brown rubber running down the middle. I didn’t even realize it was supposed to be steak until the next month, when they served it again under the banner of “steak night”.

The best steak I’ve had, and also the best meal I’ve ever had: My roommate made filet mignon, stuffed with crab, wrapped in bacon, with a crab mushroom reduction sauce. We invited a large group of friends over for dinner, and had a Pinot Noir with dinner and an Asti Spumante afterwards. Wine + friends + good times = unforgettable.
