Medium-rare is the way to go!

I like my steak medium rare. Actually, now that I learned how to make steaks at home I rarely eat steaks at restaurant anymore. Buy a Prime rib eye, either aged or fresh, seasoned it with salt and pepper. Throw it on the grill, or hot frying pan, flip once every 2 minutes, then finish it in the oven for 4 minutes. Voila, a perfect medium rare, and juicy steaks, which I would like to pair with an Amarone… Yummm…

  • How do I eat my steak? Blue rare.

I fire up my grill (yes, even in the dead of canadian winter, I still grill), and put a nice thick ribeye on one side. Drag the steak across, flip it, and drag it back across. Now it’s ready for consumption. Best way you can eat a steak!

I’m a stinking lurker from day 1 and I like it rare. Does this make me a jerk in Gary V’s eyes? Of course, it does! Does this make me love Gary any less? No! Why? Because we all know, if nothing else, the Chuckman has heart. And a Christmashucksterchucksterman has even bigger heart. Even if he doesn’t fly that way at home when he’s licking the passover plate clean like the savage dog that he is.

Have I learned something from this whole rotten time-sucking experience? Maybe. Will I continue down this terrifying phenological cul de sac hoping and praying that Gary will, one day, explode his mind and daily diatribe into something truly great and maybe even cinematic? Probably. Because you love the camera GV and the camera loves you. It’s a rare gift, like my steak. Don’t let it go to waste.

    Peace Out.

QOTD: As rare as possible. I’ve actually eaten a completely raw steak before. I just brought a fatty home from the store and I just couldn’t help myself. I had it with a pretty raw merlo too…..Carlo Rossi I think (it was before I could afford or appreciate good stuff).

Great show Gary even if the wine was not up to your standards. I’m a big fan of d’Arenberg wines. I met the Osbornes at the local wines shop. Very Cool.

QOTD: Ribeye, medium, salt and pepper, weber charcoal grill with a d’Arenberg Footbolt Shiraz.

I have the black, old school wrist bands! way cool.

    Cheers

QOTD: Medium rare, no spices, although maybe just a little salt and pepper.

I’m intrigued by the idea of dessert wine and steak. If WL could ship to Massachusetts then I would give it a shot!
