QOTD: The Sainte Leocadie is great, I LOVE the Black Pig Albarino, and Argentina Malbecs or Spanish/Portugese wines have been great as every day drinkers!

I don’t have a go-to wine, but I’ve been looking for one. The specific ones I’ve been considering are Pillar Box or Panarroz Jumilla. I would also consider a Cotes du Rhone (Domaine La Garrigue possibly) or a Barbera. I have to say I have RARELY drank the same bottle twice in the past 8 months.

Try to shy away from a house wine, as that is boring, but I picked up a six pack of Chateau Helene Corbieres Penelope 2003 from the Languedoc a while back, and that will be my house wine until it is gone…

another vote for Washington – Columbia Crest for the go-to-everyday-drinking sort of vineyard. I like the reds, especially Two Vines, and also enjoy their sparkling wines.

Beer is my everyday wine at the moment. It’s summer in Australia at the moment. Nice crisp ale does well at the moment.

For $6, a recent discovery for me: 2005 “Charamba” Douro Portugal

QOTD: My favorite everyday wine is Rapahanack Red from Hartwood Winery. It is a semi-dry Chambourcin that goes with anything.

  • The Original Marc

QOTD: Don’t have one. “Everyday wine” is more of an idea of price to me than type of wine or area or varietal. So I would maybe say I consider anything under $15 (wine is more expensive here in Iowa) that I’m not absolutely pumped for to be my “everyday wines.”

my fav every day drinker this year has to be the chateua pesquie “les Terrasses” – silky smooth, and tastes way more like a $20 bottle than a $10 bottle.

QOTD: No everyday wine. I have such a back log of different wines to drink that it’s practically a different wine every day. Keeps it exciting and interesting. I love to explore.

  • I always listen a day behind, but I’m pretty sure this is the episode where you asked if people would like you to come to NC.
Well, I’m from VA but I would definitely drive to see you, and I know of at least one other Vanyiac who would too!

Besides, my parents’ across the street neighbor want to make wine, and have this super awesome bumper sticker.

  • QOTD: I’m really leaning hard towards ‘anything old world’. Fruit bombs seduced me, but now I’m a) kinda tired of them and b) not so impressed on how they take food on. So I’m into a mix of Rhone, Loire, Bordeaux, and Burgundy right now.
