Washington state is holding a big wine tasting — 60 wineries, or so — in Austin, where I live, so I’ll be going to that. I plan to taste some of the Cougar Crest wines. Maybe some wouldn’t call that a vacation, but I’m pretty excited about it.

My first real travelling wine vacation is a one-day trip to Napa or Sonoma county in February. My second 2008 wine vacation, so far, is a week in Oregon, Willamette Valley. At some point I’ll visit some Texas wineries — sort of a mini-vacation, since I live in the area.

QOTD? Wine vacation? We’re there! We’re on the end of a Chile-Argentina-Chile Wine tour right now! We’re scooping up some wines that we can’t get up North. Luggage is getting heavy! 🙂

Gary, you should do some shows on Chile and Argentina. I can offer some suggestions…

QOTD: With the baby due in about 5 weeks I’m not sure I’ll get anywhere this year, other than maybe the local vineyards in eastern CT and RI. Which aren’t bad, but not great. A trip to The Wine Library sounds fun though, maybe if we bring the baby to meet friends in NJ.

Try the Chateau Musar, from Lebanon. Great show; another learning experience, since I’ve never had Nero. QOTD: Concepción and I pretty certainly will go to New England some time this year, and we’ll drive down as far as NYC, and then.. WL!! Maybe on Columbus day weekend, for the big tasting.

Great show – I’m a big fan of Nero D’avola!

QotD – Okanagan Valley, in British Columbia. It’s close by…(well, for those of us in BC concerned about our Carbon Footprint at least), and has some excellent smaller producers making some excellent wines in varying styles.

Hopefully going to make a trip to the Santa Cruz mountains. Gotta give some love to Peter and Paul at Soquel Vineyards, a wonder small operation with a beautiful location right outside of Capitola. Also big ups to Mott, great show!

Nice episode… really learning a ton about these new (to me) regions through this show.

QOTD: Looking to head to The North Fork of Long Island for Wine Camp this summer…. but with my wife being a teacher and with all these snow days, she may be in school until July and we would miss it!

‘Bout time bro. We missed you big time. Really don’t know much about Italian wines, but will be sure to include a bottle of the Nero D’avola. Looks like a can’t miss. QOTD- Still paying off last Octobers trip to BA Argentina, where we fell in love with their wines. Anticipating a return trip this fall, with the hopes of spending several days in the Mendoza/San Juan regions, where I can continue enjoy their wine and the beauty of their country.

QOTD: No wine vacations. Just canceled April in Dry Creek. We have a short South Dakota vacation in August. I bring my own wine though LOL.

Nice ep Gary, I love NdA ever since having some at an Italian restaurant a couple of years ago. I also managed to get in a 1st post on Ep 386 while I was watching this!!!

Can you really retire “Sniffy Sniff”, wouldn’t that be admitting that there’s something wrong with it? – why retire something that works?

QOTD – Not planned yet, there’s an embryonic idea to do something French again, maybe Alsace, but it’s too early to tell.
